Mojo Valentine

Mojo Valentine

I know it's a little early for Valentine's Day but I've wanted to do a card like this ever since I saw the lovely, Shannon West, demo a lip print at the Australian National SU Convention in Canberra last year. My 'You & Moi' stamp set arrived today, so it was a perfect time to combine it with this technique. I did some Web Surfing and decided the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge would fit in with what I had in mind!

This sketch was quite a detailed one and I was feeling pretty pleased about uploading my photos, when I realised the ribbon bit was missing on the card! Back to the craft room for a bit of fine tuning, more photo shoots, watermarks added and .... ta dah! ... it's finally like the sketch!

Dazzling Diamond Lips!

So here's how it's done -
1. Apply 'ink', (bright cherry red lipstick) to the 'old pucker'.
2. 'Kiss' the cardstock.
3. Add heat and stick powder.
4. Heat with heat tool.
5. Sprinkle with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
6. Heat with heat tool so glitter sticks.

"That's all there is to it", she says with a grin. Although, I must admit, I did try several lip 'poses' until I got the right one, used lip gloss but that didn't work very well, so went to the Chemist and picked up a cheap bright red lipstick, had 13 attempts before being satisfied with the outcome. I'm a little obsessed with getting the end result the way I pictured it in my head!

I had to chuckle because I came into the lounge, from my craft room and my daughter said, "What's with the lippy, Mum?" It was still pretty bright on my lips and I don't usually wear anything except clear lip gloss, especially during holidays while chilling out at home. I must have looked a strange sight. After offering an explanation, Laura replied, "I don't actually mind it". Go figure!

I had to come over from SCS to see if that was a real pucker or a stamp ;) great work!! I knew you were an Aussie the second you mentioned 'lounge'...I have an Aussie friend and she never mentions her living room...it's the lounge room ;)
Guess you'll be wearing the bright lipstick around the house more often!
