JAI Challenge # 5 - Just Add Dimension

Jewellery Box, Earrings and Bracelet

This week, at Just Add Ink, the challenge is to just add 'dimension'. Wow! the possibilities are endless!!! I ought to know because it took me a long time to decide on what project I was going to submit!

What would I make? .. a box, a bag, a card with Stampin' Dimensionals (Hang on ... 99% of my cards just have to have those, as I can't live without them!) What about a pop-up card or maybe some jewellery?

Over the summer, I bought quite a few templates from the Digi Chick Boutique and I wanted to use one of those. I had made quite a few cup cake gift boxes and was tempted to do another, until I saw some great jewellery boxes on Splitcoast using the match box template. I finally decided to make some jewellery pieces using the Pretties' Kit and the Filigree Brads and make a jewellery box to accompany them.

The Pretties' Kit can be used for a Variety of Projects

I printed and cut out 6 small matchbox templates (with my Paper Snips) using Pink Pirouette Cardstock. With the matching ink, I rolled on the Baroque Border standard wheel across the front of the drawers before assembling them. The large clear round Rhinestone Brads were added for the drawer knobs and lastly, I wrapped a sheet of the Kraft coloured Bella Bleu DSP around the drawers and trimmed the edges with Kraft Taffetta Ribbon.

I also enjoy making jewellery, so was able to grab from my stash some supplies to make two pairs of earrings and a bracelet. The first pair (on top of the box) is made from the large Filigree Brads and the other from the cream pearls, clear round and teardrop beads from the Pretties' Kit.

Small Matchbox Drawers

Well, I'll be wearing the jewellery I made to my next workshop and a pair of earrings would be a very quick Hostess Gift to whip up!

It was great to preview the Design Team Members' Creations this week as there was so much diversity! We can't wait to see what YOU come up with!!! I know I'll be excited to visit the blogs of many talented crafters and gain some great ideas along the way.

Happy crafting!!
Bron

PS: I just realised this is my 100th POST and to celebrate, all you have to do is leave a comment for this post and follow my blog. You'll then go into the draw to win a pair of earrings made from the Pretties Kit! Competition closes on Thursday, February 25th. Winner announced on Friday, February 26th.
