JAI 93 - Colour Challenge

JAI 93 - Mum's Birthday Card

We have the most beautiful colour combination for the Just Add Ink Challenge this week, brought to us by our talented DT Member, Kim. If you'd like to play along, all you have to do is make a paper craft project using the gorgeous colours below (or similar), post it on your blog and link it up to the JAI challenge site.

My 'project' was affectionately dubbed the 'Rocking Horse' card by some of the DT on our JAI Ning Site because of its unusual shape as you can see from the back view -

Back View

I got the idea for this style of card from the latest free Kaiser Craft Workshop Magazine, November 2011. It features on the front cover and on page 8. I stuck pretty much to the layout and used a variety of stuff that was in my stash (long project recipe to follow).

It's a tad more tizzy than the norm for me but I enjoyed using lots of different accessories.

Project Recipe -

Stamps: Forever Young, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Ink: Melon Mambo, Pool Party
Card Stock: Glossy White, Textured Pool Party
Accessories: SU - Designer Printed Brad - In Color, Basic Pearls, Sizzlits Little Leaves, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle and 1" Circle Punches, 1cm Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Flirtatious Speciality DSP, Dimensionals, Brights and Subtles DSP
Non-SU -
English Tea Party Lace Doily Die (Cheery Lynn Designs), Circle, Scallop Circle Nesties and Fleur de Lis Accents (Spellbinders), Doily Border Punch (Martha Stewart), Rolled Rose Die (Marianne Creatables)

This must have taken ages to make Bron, so many layers and elements, but worth the effort, it's a beautiful "Rocking Horse"...lol

I LOVE your little 'rocking horse' card Bron. You've done a fabulous job adding all the different layers and embellies considering it's not your usual style. These colours are divine and just PERFECT for this card.
