A Shaker Box with a Beach Theme

Today I spent time preparing for tomorrow night's class by making a couple of short boxes from the 'Cool Like That Giftable Templates'.  A few lovely ladies will be learning how to use MDS with an e-cutter and I can't wait to show them how easy it is to make little gift boxes like these.

The theme at Just Add Ink is to make a shaker and 'Let's Go to the Beach' is the latest theme challenge at the Paper Players so I combined the two ideas and came up with this set -

The windows on both boxes have been cut using the shell and starfish shapes from 'Anchors Away' Digital Kit.  The shaker box has two layers of clear acetate with lots of glitter, dazzling diamonds and gold sequins sandwiched inbetween and sealed with the new Fast Fuse Adhesive. For extra 'shake' I filled up the little box with a couple of handfuls of white shells.

 The Starfish Box

Instead of a clear window for the second box, I used the gorgeous wavy DSP from the Moonlight Paper Stack to highlight the starfish cut out.

It was fun to do a beach theme on this cold, winter's day.  Roll on summer and warmer weather!

Thanks for stopping by,
