Workshop Wow with the Two Tags Die

7 Ideas for the Wider Tag from the Two Tags Die

(from Bag in a clockwise direction - Chocolate Holder 'Bag', Card, Bag Topper, Easel Card, Box, Gift Card Holder and Tag)

Today I'm enjoying Hobart Regionals and celebrating my birthday with a whole heap of Stampin' Up! enthusiasts. I was pleased to be asked to present another Workshop Wow and chose to demonstrate how to make an Easel Card from the Two Tags Die (of course!!!). I will also quickly share some other uses for the larger tag on the die.

A PDF file with instructions will be available very soon.

I'm officially on holidays now and am looking forward to playing with some SU goodies from the brand spankin' new catalogue (link on my side bar).

Hope your weekend is all that you planned it to be :)

I'll be back ...

A Doily Easel Card for JAI 81

Doily Easel Card - Colour Challenge - JAI 81

If you don't mind me saying, I'm super pleased with this colour combo that I chose for Just Add Ink's 81st Challenge. The colours are really pretty together.

Stamp Set - Creative Elements
(Release date - September 1st)

I decided to go all 'girly' and use a Doily Die that I had bought at a Craft Fair earlier this year. I attempted to make an easel card using the die but the pattern was too intricate for two thicknesses of card stock so I attached two separate doilies to a Very Vanilla Circle Easel Card base.

I layered the flowers and butterfly and popped a dimensional in between each layer.

Project Recipe for Doily Easel Card -

Stamp Sets: Creative Elements, Just Believe (sentiment)
Ink: Cajun Craze, Peach Parfait, Bashful Blue
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue, Cajun Craze
Accessories: Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Basic Jewels - Pearls, Blender Pen, Dimensionals, Victoria Crochet Trim, Peach Parfait 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon, Little Leaves Sizzlits Die
Non-SU: Doily Die

I hope the colours inspire you to join in with this week's challenge at Just Add Ink. The Design Team's examples are just gorgeous, as always, so hop on over and check out all the loveliness and link up your own entry.

JAI 78 - Colour Challenge

JAI 78

The Color Combo

This week at Just Add Ink we have a colour challenge for you. I had fun putting this combo together and to me it 'says' ... NATURE, so I got my Nature Walk stamp set all inky for the very first time and refrained from adding anything too girly to keep it gender neutral.

Project Recipe:

Stamp Sets: Nature Walk, Creative Elements (Sneak Peek)
Ink/Markers: Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy, Certainly Celery, Versa Mark
Card Stock: Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Neutral Brads, NQN Taffeta Ribbon, Color Spritzer Tool, Watercolor Paper, Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Aqua Painter, Distressing Tool from Cutter Kit, Stamping Sponge, Dimensionals
Non-SU: Tag Die

I hope the colours inspire you to play along. Hop on over to the JAI Blog to get some great inspiration from the other DT members and to link up your own entry.

PS: Craft room up-date - My hubby informs that he has started putting together my new craft desk (I didn't notice). Apparently there are about 37 steps altogether and after 40 minutes he had completed step 1. I can see that this is going to take a while ;)

Happy stamping,

Stamping with Shimmer Paint (Inspiration from Shannon West)

Shimmery Medallion

Not only do I love my Impressions Magazine for SU Demonstrators, I love the ideas that are posted on Stampin' Connection (an on-line community for Aus/NZ SU Demos).

The lovely Shannon West has a video about Stamping with Shimmer Paint (not a new idea but her hints and tips are worth picking up on). I pretty much CASED her gorgeous card but used Blushing Bride for the butterflies instead of Baja Breeze and used a sneak peak stamp from Creative Elements as a frame for the sentiment. It's hard to photograph the shimmer but you can see a hint of it. The best thing that I liked about this card is that you can make it in under 10 minutes - gotta love that!!

Project Recipe:
Stamp Sets: Medallion, Upsy Daisy, Creative Elements
Card Stock: Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint
Accessories: Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Basic Jewels - Pearls, Sponge Dauber, Dimensionals

... and just for fun, I thought I'd try out some craft foil (Spellbinders - Jewels Pack) to make a cute Butterfly Fridge Magnet using Stampin' Up's! exclusive Beautiful Butterflies Die and embossing folders - Elegant Lines and Petals-a-Plenty. I love how it turned out.

Embossing Silk Fabric

I have finally found a use for all this very bright blue silk fabric that hubby bought back from Cambodia 3 and a half years ago (This was his interpretation of 'baby blue raw silk fabric'). Well ... it was a tad difficult to communicate over the phone exactly what I had in mind with the noise of the 'Russian' Market in the background.

Anyway, enough said on that topic. At Convention in Melbourne, Vanessa Webb demonstrated how to emboss fabric using the Big Shot Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets. I was so excited about giving it a try but it has taken until now to get around to it (on holiday ;).

I have used Naturals Ivory Card Stock and stamped the beautiful flourish from the gorgeous stamp set, Creative Elements (sneak peek), in Pacific Point, sponged around the edges and finished it off with an Antique Brad (my favourite). The embossing was done with the Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

If you'd like to make your own Butterfly Easel Card, I have a tutorial HERE.

Thanks for stopping by,
