CASEing the Catty Blog Hop - Favourite Retiring Products

http://caseingthecatty.blogspot.com/2016/05/ctc80-choose-your-own-favourite.html

It's Sunday night and that means another blog hop from the crew at CASEing the Catty!  This week we're choosing our FAVOURITE RETIRING PRODUCT and saying a fond farewell to the 2015/2016 Annual and 2016 Occasions Catalogues. Next week we'll be back with projects CASED (Copied and selectively edited) from the brand new catty!  Eeek! I can hardly wait.

For CTC 80 I've chosen to CASE the gorgeous card from the Hostess Section of the annual catty.  It's on page 181 and features the beautiful big bloom from the Best Thoughts Stamp Set. I only made a few subtle changes as I loved the design and choice of colours.  I did try the flower with Blackberry Bliss Ink at first but decided Calypso Coral looked much better.  The concept design artists at Stampin' Up! are so talented.

Speaking of talent, not only are we saying goodbye to some products but the CTC Crew are farewelling Helen too.  No doubt she will keep blogging and sharing her amazing, 'out of the box' designs with us from time to time, but I sure will miss her being in the DT.

You can click back to Helen Heil from H2 Designs or hop on to Kathryn Mangelsdorf  to see what she has created with her favourite retiring product.

Thank You

Hi there.  I have spent most of my weekend making Thank You cards as we are about to wrap up another school year.  Here's one that didn't take long to put together as I CASED it from the front cover of our SU Impressions Magazine, Jul/Aug Edition.  A bit of lace, some extra stamping and a doily were added to the original design and I used a couple of scraps of paper from the Pretty Petals DSP Stack.  I love how this card highlights the very versatile Triple Banner Punch.

CASE-ing the Catty Challenge #9 - Thanks

At CASE-ing the Catty Challenges we are up to the Thanks Chapter of the Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue already!  Time flies when you're having fun.

My project is CASED from page 145.  Instead of using the gorgeous embellishments just to package the little journal, I decided to put them on the front cover instead.

Some Fancy Foil Designer Vellum was used instead of a Dots Mask, plus some different stamp sets and In Colour Sequins to add my own twist to it.  I did, however, keep the great colour combo - Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Gold.

I'm really enjoying the challenge each week to find something from the catty to CASE (Copy and Share Everything). Why don't you join me and find a project that inspires you.

SUO 100 - A Blast from the Past

Hi everyone.  Welcome to a very special 100th challenge at SUO.  The theme is "A Blast from the Past" which means you can choose any one of the first 99 challenges!  The entire list can be viewed over at the SUO Challenge Blog.

My card was made originally 'For the Birds' Challenge but then I thought it would fit the 'Congratulations' theme or even, 'Welcome Baby' ... so many possibilities.

I had fun inking up a brand new Hostess Set called, Nuts About You and using my Floral Frames Collection Dies for the first time to make a fun shaped card. The colour combo is Soft Sky, Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango and a teeny bit of Soft Suede.

Oh! ... and today is July 1st so that means the brand new annual Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue has officially been released in Australia.  Yay!  So many goodies are on my wish list that I'm not sure where to start.  No doubt, with school holidays approaching I'll have a lot more time to play.  That makes me one happy SU Demo.

PS: Congratulations! In the General Stamping forum, you're in the FAVORITES for the week ending July 6, 2014. See post #50. Thanks 'tessaduck'.

I hope I have inspired you to play along over the next fortnight and share your 'Blast from the Past' projects with us.

Pinks and Purples for SUO 92

Today for the Pinks and Purples Challenge at SUO, I have made a Tea Cup Easel Card using a combination of MDS and traditional stamps, punches, inks and dies.

A Tea Cup Easel Card for SUO 92

Here's a 'guide' to how I made my Teapot Easel Card.  It doesn't go into great detail but I hope you can work it out from the series of photos.
The tea cup base of the card was designed in My Digital Studio using the floral tea cup brush stamp and label, printed out and then fussy cut (see below for 'hybrid' pieces).

Sticky Strip was added to the front section of the card so the single tea cup could be attached to form a pocket.

The 'saucer' was cut out from Wisteria Wonder card stock using the largest circle die. I should have made the rim of the saucer first before inserting the 'label' through a slit on the base.

A rim was made from the two largest circle dies and sponged with WW ink. The scalloped circle was cut from Whisper White and paper pierced to form the doily. The sentiment is from Chalk Talk and heat embossed with Whisper White embossing powder.

A medium sized circle was cut to form a base for the punched flowers and then inserted into the front pocket of the tea cup.

Ta Dah!

If you have any questions, you can email me in about two weeks time :) because when this post goes live I will be enjoying a well earned holiday/long service leave in sunny, North Queensland.  I'll be trading in my lap top and stamps for some sun, surf and relaxation!

Morning Meadow

Isn't it exciting when you get a new catalogue in your hot little hands and you pour through the pages and start creating a very long wish list?  Well this gorgeous Hostess Stamp Set in the current annual catalogue was at the top of my list last July and I am still in 'love' with every single image in the Morning Meadow Set.

To add to the general excitement of all things Stampin' Up! ®, there is a brand new Seasonal Catalogue being released at the end of this month (28th January) and there is a set of Banner Framelit Dies.  Yay!  One of the benefits of being a demo is you get the opportunity to pre-order some of your 'must have' goodies a little earlier and I've used one of the banners on my card today.

 Morning Meadow for CCMC 285

I have used the absolutely gorgeous sketch provided by the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Site and a picture I pinned on Pinterest for inspiration.

Happy Birthday Anne Marie

The beautiful Anne Marie Hile is celebrating her birthday and I have joined in with the 'Linky' party to wish her the happiest of days!

I got to know Anne Marie when I was on the very first Design Team for Dynamic Duos and these days we keep in touch through Facebook.

I heard she likes all things, 'pink and girly' so I have made her one of my Butterfly Easel Cards to wish her a very happy birthday.

Hip, hip hooray!

This card has been electronically cut using my Silhouette Cameo, then stamped, embossed and sanded for the finished look.

'B' is for Birthday, Beautiful New In Colours and Stamps

I've really enjoyed the long weekend and have realised just how much I miss having a three day weekend all the time.  I've been happily playing in my craft room today but it will be back to reality tomorrow!  Mid-year assessments and reports are looming ... sigh!

Here's a card I made to highlight the gorgeous new, soon to be released, In Colours and Hostess Stamp Sets.

My latest fad is to use digital punches to make fun shaped cards.  This time I have enlarged the letter 'B' punch from 'Timeless Type - Junior Alphabet' and turned it into a cutting file to use with my Silhouette Cameo (Designer Edition).

From this ...

... to this!

The 'B' is cut from Very Vanilla Card Stock and I have stamped a variety of images from the new Hostess Sets, Morning Meadow and Banner Greetings (release date - July 2nd).

The new In Colours are really pretty.  I love every one of them and will need to order more card stock very soon, especially Baked Brown Sugar!

Colours Used -
Large Flower - Crisp Cantaloupe
Background Flowers - Baked Brown Sugar
Little Leaves Sizzlits - Pistachio Pudding
Bird - Coastal Cabana
Banner - Strawberry Slush

I have a few more cards in the production line but they will have to wait until another day.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
