The Stamp Review Crew - Sprinkles of Life

Hi and welcome to The Sprinkles of Life Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop.  We are a group of Stampin' Up! ® Demonstrators who love to show you just how much you can do with one stamp set.

If you get lost, just click on the banner below to take you to our main blog, where you will see a list of all the participants for this round.

http://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2015/07/stamp-review-crew-sprinkles-of-life.html

This is the first time that I have inked up my Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set, crazy...  right? ... yep, considering it was on the top of my wish list when I first clapped eyes on the new catty.  This is an extra special set; not only does it co-ordinate with the cute Tree Builder Punch but $3.00 (AUD) from every set sold goes to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  You'll find it featured in the SU catalogue on the inside back page (p.189) for easy reference.

There are 22 stamps in the Sprinkles of Life Set and I managed to ink up 14 of them for my three projects!  Just for an added extra I am also sharing some fun ways to use the Circle Card Thinlits Die and a technique with a mini tutorial; plus, each project features a different Designer Series Paper (DSP).  Links to the tutorials I followed can be found at the bottom of this post.

Project #1 - Marbling with Shaving Foam

This card was cut from the Circle Card Thinlits Die in the usual way and the strips of Bohemian DSP were fussy cut so the large diamonds in the pattern made for an interesting edge on both sides.

Project Recipe:
Stamp Set:  Sprinkles of Life
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo, Chocolate Chip, Delightful Dijon, Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette Ink Refills
Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Delightful Dijon
Accessories:  Bohemian DSP, Circle Card Thinlits Dies, Tree Builder Punch, Word Window Punch, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals
Non-SU:  Shaving Cream
Here's how to get that swirly ice-cream look -

Marbling with Shaving Foam
1.  Squirt some shaving foam onto a paper or plastic plate and add a few drops of ink refills (Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette used in this example).
2.  Swirl the colours through the shaving foam with a small stick (be careful not to over mix the ink).
3.  Place the  Very Vanilla card stock over the swirled shaving foam mixture and press down gently.
4.  Wipe off the excess shaving foam with a tissue and leave to dry.
5.  Stamp the images onto the marbled area and punch out the 'scoops' of ice-cream with the Tree Builder Punch.

Project #2 - An Extra Flap for the Circle Thinlits Card

There's an extra inside flap added to this card so you have more room to write a message to the recipient or you could glue the flap down to make a pocket for a gift card holder (Link to a tutorial at the bottom of this post).
The little bird image on the branch takes centre stage and colour inspiration is taken from the very cute Sweet Li'l Things DSP.

Project Recipe:
Stamp Set:  Sprinkles of Life
Ink:  Hello Honey, Tip Top Taupe, Tangelo Twist
Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Hello Honey, Tip Top Taupe, Tangelo Twist
Accessories:  Sweet Li'l Things DSP, Circle Card Thinlits Dies, Tree Builder Punch, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace Trim, Paper Piercing Tool

Project #3 - A Box made from the Circle Card Thinlits Die

My last project features the paper piecing technique with the Sprinkles of Life stamps and the colourful, Cherry on Top DSP Stack.  I followed a tutorial by Becky Cowley (link below) to make the cute gift box (Mine is slightly different as I watched the tutorial and then made my project a day later; made a couple of 'whoopsies' but I hope you get the general idea).

Project Recipe:
Stamp Set:  Sprinkles of Life
Ink:  Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe
Card Stock:  Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White
Accessories:  Cherry on Top DSP, Circle Card Thinlits Dies, Tree Builder Punch, Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace Trim, Sticky Strip, Lots of Labels Framelits, Rhinestones Basic Jewels
Non-SU:  Magnetic Tape

I hope you are getting lots of inspiration from the SRC Crew.  Enjoy the hop!

Curvy Keepsake Pram Tutorial

Hi there.  Welcome to addINKtive designs.  If you stopped by my blog from the Zoo Babies Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop, you would have spotted a little pink pram that I made from the Curvy Keepsake Die.  As promised, here's a quick tutorial on how to make one, with a few tweaks and a new colour palette.

 Curvy Keepsake Pram Tutorial

1. Cut out the two pieces of the Curvy Keepsake Die with your Big Shot and snip off one of the sides with a handle about 3/4" from the score line.

2.  Emboss the two pointy sides with the Argyle Embossing Folder about 3/4" from the base score line to avoid embossing the other sections.

3.  Assemble the box as usual and curve the cut out section towards the insides of the box.

4.  Cut a 'blanket' from DSP (A fraction smaller than 2" x 2") and glue to the inside base of the pram.
5.  Add a handle made from the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (6-1/2" long).

6.  Make a square rim to go around the bottom edge of the box from DSP - 3/4" x 11" long and scored at 2-1/2", 5", 7-1/2" and 10".  Attach to two of the sides with Glue Dots. Birthday Bash Specialty DSP used in this example.

7.  The wheels are stamped in Tangerine Tango Ink from one of the stamps from the Amazing Birthday Set onto Whisper White Card Stock and punched out with the 1" Circle Punch. Glue on 3/4" white circles to cover up the writing and add a Mini Silver Brad to each wheel.  Attach to the pram with Dimensionals.

8.  Embellish with the cute little stamps from Zoo Babies.

Enjoy!

CASEing the Catty Blog Hop - The Wedding Section of the Occasions Catalogue

Thanks for stopping by on the CTC Blog Hop. You may have just 'hopped' here from Stasia's blog or landed here directly.  Either way, I hope you are enjoying our Hop. Tonight the Crew have 'CASED' ideas from the Wedding Section of the Occasions Catalogue (pages 42 - 44).

There's lots of inspiration packed into 3 pages and here's what inspired me to make a cute little Tealight Birdhouse -
  • Theme:  Wedding (Favour/Décor)
  • Colour:  Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, Sahara Sand, Kraft (Baked Brown Sugar)
  • Technique:  White Embossing on Vellum and Colouring the Images
  • Accessories:  Sahara Sand Lace Trim
I love the 'Choose Happiness' Stamp Set and the white embossing on the vellum gives it a soft 'romantic' look.

The DIY Mini Milk Carton was designed by Sam from Pootles Papercraft and I followed a video tutorial on Stampin' Connection made by Maria Russell. You can see it here on You Tube. I also noticed that she has created a video of my Top Note Owl Card!  She certainly has great taste in paper craft projects.

I made a summary of Maria's (and Sam's) tutorials, with my version thrown into the mix, so I have the measurements handy for future reference.

Mini Tutorial for Tea Light Bird House

Sahara Sand Card Stock - 5-1/2" x 8-1/4", Roof 1-7/8" x 5"

(Arrows Embossing Folder)
Scored on the long side at 1-7/8", 3-3/4", 5-5/8" and 7-1/2".
Scored on the short side at 1-7/8", 3-3/4" and 5".

1" Circle Punch

Just use a small amount of snail adhesive if adding a tealight, for easy access.

Next up on the Blog Hop is the super talented, Jess Williams -

Build a Bouquet

It was so nice to go out to a Stamp Class last night that my friends, Jo and De Arn (who also happen to be in my downline), organised.  We got to make some of the flowers from the Build a Bouquet Project Kit.  It's that beautiful bouquet that you see on the cover of the latest Stampin' Up! ® Occasions' Catalogue and on page 29 (link on my side bar).

I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and on my way home from the Dentist today (Won't go into detail except to say it was a little traumatic), I went out and bought a new, no drip, glue gun .  I don't have the kit, but I do own the Bouquet Bigz Die and Stamp Set, Build a Bouquet and am looking forward to making a few more flowers when I've recovered from this morning's ordeal.

Here's a great video tutorial that SU has put out -
