Banner Fun at SUO Challenges

Hi there!  If you follow my blog you will know that I love making fun shaped cards, especially easel cards.  This design has been in my head for a while and I held off making it until this week because it just so happens to fit in perfectly with the Banner Fun Challenge at SUO.

The Fringe Scissors make it easy to add some 'grass' to the card.  Did you also notice the three SALE-A-BRATION goodies (one free for every $90 you spend) that were used in the making of this card?
  • Sweet Sorbet DSP
  • Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack
  • Banner Punch
Happy SALE-A-BRATION everyone!  It's one of the most 'fun times' on the Stampin' Up! ® calendar.

I made the easel part on each side 2 inches wide so the Woodgrain Tags, made from the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, would be a perfect fit. It's based on THIS CARD I made when I was on the Dynamic Duos DT, but in reverse and the middle section has been completely cut away.  I've called this new design a Double Scalloped Tag Topper Easel Card.  Phew!... a bit of a mouthful but a lot of fun to make.

I hope that is a good enough explanation for now and maybe I will do a tutorial later when I have a bit more time on my hands.

So what BANNER are you going to make on your next project?  I hope you will play along over the next fortnight and share your creativity with us.

This Hand Bag Gift Card Holder highlights three gorgeous new products that are available in the newly released Occasions Catalogue.  It was cut from a Silhouette Cutting File and made with love for one of my young nieces.  This year they are all getting SU vouchers from me for their birthdays :)

Sweet Buttons and Sorbet with Pop 'n' Cuts

My son asked me to make a card for him to give to his girlfriend's mum for her 50th Birthday!  So ... I guess it needed to be pretty special.  She loves to sew dresses for her daughter so the Dress Form Pop 'n' Cuts was an obvious 'springboard' for the rest of the design.

Some Sweet Sorbet DSP (SAB - free with every $90 purchase) helped me to decide on the colour combo and the long forgotten Sweet Buttons Embosslits was a 'must' to add to the dress making theme.

I blew dust off the retired set, Sew Suite, so I could stamp that cute little sewing machine image on the envelope to complete the project.

I just love how easy it was for a variety of Stampin' Up! ® products to come together to make this card.  My favourite little 'added extra' is the Needlepoint Border embossing down the sides of the card front.

I'm pretty sure Gina will appreciate it and Ryan will continue to remain in her 'good books'.  Well .. who wouldn't love to receive a personalised, hand made card?

Thanks for stopping by,

PS:  A doily card of mine was featured in this week's Paper Crafters Library.  Sweet! ...  Here's the link -
