A Sneaky Peak at Donovan's Cards

Image
Here's a little sneak peek at the cards that Donovan made. He's a very talented 11 year old who LOVES doing Origami and he's entered them in the latest Just Add Ink Challenge which was to use patterned paper (that's DSP in SU lingo) in a papercraft project. Why don't you pop on over to his class' blog and check out both of his gorgeous creations and leave a little comment love! I'll be back on Friday with my first DT submission for a month!! I'm looking forward to re-joining the original team and working alongside some very talented newcomers. Stay tuned for that announcement. It won't be far away.

Two More Projects for Friday's Big Shot Class

Scallop Envelope Box No... you don't have to be a Big Shot to attend Friday night's stamp club but you get to create these examples with the Big Shot embossing and die cutting machine - my favourite toy! The above example uses the Scallop Envelope Die (X4). It's simply a matter of sticking the side flaps together to form a box, add a cute little birdie on a branch made from the Two-Step Bird Punch and that's about all there is to it. I used the sturdy Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP for the box and Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon to tie up the cellophane bag. Friends This card is a combination of two designs which I received as SWAPS at the National Convention in Sydney. I drew inspiration from Peggy Quarmby and Melinda Taylor . Thanks, ladies. Project Recipe: Stamps: Vintage Vogue Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla Ink: Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede Accessories: Bella Rose DSP, Top Note Die, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds, Two-Way Glue Pen Until ne...

A CASE with Three Different Colour Combos

Image
Stampin' Up! often add some great ideas to the Demonstrators' Personal Web Sites. I've CASED just one of their fantastic samples. You'll find the Project Recipe and the original card featured HERE. I made some minor changes by substituting the featured DSP with a Tangerine Tango coloured DSP from the Haiku Collection and a sentiment from Tiny Tags instead of Teeny Tiny Sentiments. This is one of the cards the ladies will be making this Friday night at my dINKy chicks' stamp club. The next one I made using the colours from the latest Colour Challenge at Just Add Ink . It was one of my colour combo suggestions and Amanda and Danielle decided to run with it for this week's challenge. I have had a break from the Design Team due to holidays and the busyness of life but I will be back on Friday 2nd July with a new submission! Can't wait to get back into the swing of things with some extra DT Members alongside too! Awesome! Why don't you pop on over to ...

K. Werner's Color Inspiration - Readers' Choice Combo No. 3

Image
Colours Used - Chocolate Chip, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Pale Plum and Very Vanilla ( All S.U.) The Readers' Choice Color Palette I've been busy sorting out my craft room and changing all the cardstock and ink around to make way for the Stampin' Up! Colour Renovation. It won't actually happen in Australia until September when the new catty is released but I'm on holidays and trying to make the most of the time I have left. I'm also having a break from Just Add Ink for a couple more weeks and am having serious trouble getting back my stamping mojo!!! I haven't stamped since before National Convention when I made about 90 swaps!! I thought I'd enter K. Werner's Color challenge to get me stamping again. I loved the colour combo but my efforts were a bit disappointing! Oh well ... at least I've dusted off my supplies and had a go! Thanks for stopping by,

Missing in Action ... in Sunny North Queensland

Image
Here are some holiday snaps of our recent trip to North Queensland. As you can gather there's been no time for card making but some serious first attempts at scrapbooking some of these memories may be something I'll do in the not too distant future! The Beautiful Daintree National Park A Private Swimming Hole in the Daintree National Park A Lace Monitor looking for a picnic lunch Where the Forest Meets the Sea Lizzie the Croc Cape Tribulation Mossman Gorge Port Douglas Four Mile Beach from Flagstaff Hill, Port Douglas It certainly is a beautiful part of Australia ... but it is good to be back home in Tassie even though it's 20 degrees cooler!! I hope to dust off the stamps and ink soon and come back down to Earth. There's been some great Stampin' Up! Specials while I've been away and will post the details when I get the chance. Cheers, Bron X
