Image
JAI 128 - Flower Box It's Friday and that means another awesome challenge at Just Add Ink .   This week we have the following gorgeous inspiration pic for you.  JAI 128 - Inspiration Make sure you check out all the other beautiful projects from the DT over at the JAI blog.  I decided to use a combination of Poppy Stamp Dies and the little birds from a Cottage Cutz die to create a Window Box Scene. Bizzy Becs have a Flower Power Challenge on for the month of July, so I have decided to combine and enter my project into that challenge too. Thanks for stopping by. PS:  Thank you Bizzy Becs for selecting this as a Top 3 Pick.

Tag Easel Card

Image
Tag Easel Card from Marianne Creatables Tag Die Well, it was inevitable that I would make an easel card for my 'Totally Tags' Demo.   I used a Marianne Creatables tag die to make this card.  The flower stamp and matching die cuts are from a Hero Arts/Sizzix Set. The flower was coloured using Tim Holtz Distress Markers. When I was a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I had the opportunity to present this idea as a Workshop Wow.  I used the Two Tags Die from SU to create a Tag Easel Card.  Here are some that I have made in the past.  Click on the photos to take you to the original posts and tutorials.                                                                           Thanks for stopping by,

The Lollipop Ladies #49 - Fantales

Image
The Lollipop Ladies #49 - Fantales with Text There's a new challenge over at the Lollipop Ladies .   This fortnight we have the delicious treat, often consumed in Movie Theatres all around the country - Fantales.   (I used to love reading about all the famous people on the wrappers). The extra little challenge is to add text to your project. I used SU's colours Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight to match the Fantale Wrappers... ... added a die cut (movie film) from EZ Cut to keep with the Fantale theme and then a few embellishments to finish off the card. I hope you get time to play along.  Make sure you check out the Lollipop Ladies Challenge Blog for some sweet inspiration. Thanks for stopping by,

JAI 124 - Colour Challenge

Image
JAI 124 - Colour Challenge It's so lovely to be back again with a card for the 124th challenge at Just Add Ink .  This week we have a great colour combo to get you inspired.   I had already stamped some tea cups from Sharnee's Tea Shoppe Stamp Set (SU) in various colours and the Marina Mist one came in very handy for this colour challenge.  I loved the images so much that I ended up ordering the set.  Which reminds me ...  I must go and collect it from her :)   I also loved Nikki's card that she entered in a recent challenge at Dynamic Duos and with that idea in mind, I created my own version of a tea cup sitting on a dresser.                                                                  ...

Dynamic Duos #1

Image
DD #1 A Card for Kathy I am super excited to share with you my first card as a DT Dynamo for the brand new challenge site, Dynamic Duos. It's the first challenge of the month so we've started the ball rolling with a bold and sassy, bright and happy duo. The colour combo is brought to us by Sharla of This Thing Called Life who won the DD Facebook Competition with her colour choice of lime and aqua.   On a more personal note, while I was making this card, I received a text from a good friend telling me she had pneumonia and asking if I'd pray for her, hence the added sentiment.  I'm trusting that Kathy will make a speedy recovery, get plenty of rest ;) and the card will help bring a smile to her face. My inspiration for this card comes from Kittie Caracciolo of Kittie Kraft. She is so talented when it comes to floral punch art and her gorgeous window scenes have lead me to add quite a few new punches and dies to my collection :) A Helpful Hint:  ...

Playing Favourites with Silhouettes

Image
Musical Walk Firstly, I really wanted to join in with the very first challenge at A Blog Named Hero , which is to use your favourite Hero Arts Stamp .  I am blessed to have quite a few Hero Arts stamps in my stash, so it was a bit hard to choose just one favourite.  Musical Walk would have to rate high on my list so that's the one that I went with. After heat embossing with white, I masked off a circle and used Distress Inks for the emboss resist technique and then added some embellishments.     Secondly, a great site called Sentimental Sundays has a challenge this week to use Silhouettes , so I've decided to join in on the fun over there as well.   PS:  Thanks Sentimental Sundays for choosing this card in the Top 3.  The sentiment that I chose is an old SU one which suits the image perfectly. I hope you're enjoying the Easter break.   Thanks for taking a pe...

Triple Celebration

Image
A Card for a Triple Celebration This card was made for friends who have a triple reason to celebrate this year - Their 40th Wedding Anniversary A 60th Birthday A 65th Birthday 3 milestones in one year! I used the colour palette to match the beautiful new ' Everyday Enchantment ' DSP. All products are SU except for the birds (Martha Stewart punch), Tim Holtz Alterations, Carnivale Die for the letters/numbers and the card was from a pack of pre-folded centre step cards. PS: Here's a link to a gorgeous card that was inspired by my Triple Celebration Card : https://me35.wordpress.com/2012/03/15/birthday-girl/ It is stunning! Thanks for stopping by,

CAS Card Making Day 3 - Inspiration Made Simple

Image
Caged Bird Here's a little card I made today which was inspired by Day 3 of the Clean and Simple Online Card Making Class . It was all about "using a technique or element and applying it to a clean and simple version or spin off ". Jennifer McGuire made a beautiful 'tone-on-tone' dimensional butterfly card. I applied the same technique to make a card in the shape of a bird cage. Supplies: Stamp: from Just Believe (SU) Ink: Calypso Coral (SU) Card Stock: Whisper White, Calypso Coral (SU) Accessories: Caged Bird Die (Sizzix - Tim Holtz), Petal Cone Die (SU), Stamping Sponge You can probably tell I'm really enjoying the CAS style :) Thanks for stopping by,
