Birdies - Less is More/CAS

Image
Birdies While I'm on a roll for all things, Clean and Simple , (thanks to a great on-line card making course) I thought I'd make another one layer card. To add a bit of interest I sniffed around a couple of challenge blogs that specialise in the CAS style and came across this great sketch from Clean and Simple ... FTL 173 ... and a one layer card with a Bird Theme from Less is More (week 50). Supplies Used: Stamps: Birdies (STAMP-IT), Retro Remix and Family Phrases (SU) Cardstock: Whisper White Ink: Memento Black, Melon Mambo (SU) Accessories: A combination of Copics and SU Markers Thanks for stopping by,

JAI 61 - Just Add Stamps and Nothing Else!

Image
JAI 61 The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is to let your stamps take centre stage and use ONLY stamps on your card stock. Gulp! No embellishments, whatsoever. How difficult was it for me to not add sponging to the edges, do a bit of distressing, add some white taffeta ribbon, dimensionals and use a punch with this card? Answer: Very! My brain hurt just thinking about this challenge as I didn't have a clue what I was going to submit, hence the lateness of this post. However, last night I got all excited at the thought of cracking open my White StazOn Ink that I have had since it was released in Australia but I had never used it! I think I'm a convert now. You'll be seeing a lot more of it from me in the future. Easter Blossoms Maybe clean and simple stamping is your thing, or maybe you're like me and find it a real challenge. Whatever the case, I hope you'll check out the truly inspirational work over at Just Add Ink and play alo...

FTL 121 - Owl Always

Image
Owl Always Well, I discovered who my Secret Santa was because a couple of her recent posts gave it away!! Today I've used the two very cute Owl Always Stamps from Unity which were inside the gorgeous packaging and recycled the DSP (Jolly Holiday) for the scalloped border. Here's a clue to the identity of the very generous person who sent all the wonderful goodies my way - I have included one of her beautiful crocheted flowers in the layout. The sketch is from the Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge Blog (FTL 121) but I was too late to link it up. The SU Colours that I used were Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla. Thanks for stopping by,

Beautiful Wings I love the sketches at Clean and Simple Stamping and the current 'Fall to Layout' really caught my eye this week. There was not a lot of stamping with this one, just a great way to highlight some new DSP and the cute little Beautiful Wings Embosslits. FTL 110 I had a few birthday cards to catch up on and it was quite a productive day as far as creating goes but there's still some jobs around the house that need doing! They can always wait until another day! Project Recipe for Beautiful Wings: Stamp Set: Great Friend Ink: Soft Suede Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze Accessories: Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Elegant Soiree DSP, Jewels - Basic Pearls, Modern Label Punch, Dimensionals Thanks for stopping by to browse,

Quick and Easy Cards

Image
Razzle Dazzle with Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip Inspired by Nature and Pocket Silhouettes using Baja Breeze and Close to Cocoa I don't usually do quick and easy cards but decided to clear away my craft desk by using up some cardstock that had already been cut. I didn't even use a Stamp-a-ma-jig! These cards use the FTL #100 again!! I enjoy using that sketch. While checking out the new catty, I was happy to see that Razzle Dazzle will be making a comeback, so was eager to get the dust off that stamp and have a play! Most cards I do never take less than an hour to make, so these ones are not really to my liking but I had fun anyway! While I was in the mood yesterday to use up a few pre-cut bits and pieces I made a few Haute Tote Bags too but will post those when I purchase some more jewellery clips to attach the gift cards on the side. Happy Crafting,

FTL #100 at Clean and Simple Stamping

Crochet and Fine Lace Here's another card using the FTL sketch #100 from Clean and Simple Stamping . It uses the retired background stamp, Fine Lace , which I won't part with because it was one of my faves. Speaking of favourites, Close to Cocoa is about to retire when the Colour Renovation begins with the release of our new Catalogue in September :( I have teamed it up with another favourite colour, Baja Breeze, which thankfully is staying! The gorgeous crocheted flower was made by my friend, Andrea. Big hugs being sent her way. I need another lesson soon because when I got all my crochet gear out to make a flower, I'd completely forgotten what to do! So when her little girl is on the road to recovery I'll have to get a refresher course. FTL Sketch #100 Thanks for stopping by,

Sketch 100 Clean and Simple Stamping are celebrating their 100th sketch with a blog hop so be sure to hop on over and check it out! I've seen people use their sketches for months now but this is the first time I have!! After browsing through all of them on their blog the other day, I can't work out why it has taken me so long. What a great resource. I love the simplicity of their sketches. Here's the 100th Sketch As you can see I switched sides for my sentiment because it suited the daisy stamp better.
