A Valentine Chocolate Holder for Still addINKtive Challenges # 3 and a Little Give Away

Image
This week at still addINKtive challenges Kathy has chosen a beautiful colour combo.  I thought the colour palette was perfect for one of my little Valentine Chocolate Holders . My newest SAB set, Bloomin' Marvellous, was wanting to get inky for the first time, so in keeping with 'tradtition' for this time of the year, I came up with a similar design to past years but swapped the stamp set to a current SAB one. It's the Fifth Week of the Month at s.a. challenges so we will either have a sketch or a colour combo for inspiration.  We've decided to go with this trio and can't wait to see your lovely creations. Here's some more detailed pictures of my DT project for the week - Bloomin' Marvellous SAB Stamp Set (Free with every $100 {AUD} purchase during SALE-A-BRATION time) I used Guylian Heart Shaped Belgian Chocolates, available in packs of 8 from Woolworths. Just having some photography fun - using a little cu...

Elephants, Cupcakes and Coffee Cups - Free Templates

Image
Over the school holidays I have been busy playing with a couple of digital collections, in particular the One Big SALE-A-BRATION 2013 Digital Disc.  We don't have My Digital Studio in Australia yet so I used another graphic's program. I did manage to make some templates. They are a combination of computer graphics and free hand drawing! (It's a long drawn out process involving several steps.  Please don't ask me how I did all this as I still have my 'L' plates on and I need some more lessons from my friend, Lynne. I'm still discovering things by trial and error and have a lot of refining to do). However, I would like to share these fun shaped cards by offering you the templates for FREE for a limited time.  You can read a bit more about it by visiting still addINKtive challenges on Wednesday morning (AEST).  We will be hosting a special SALE-A-BRATION Week for Spot that Stamp Set and for every entry, you will receive a template. #1 -...

The Love Bug

Image
Have you been smitten by the Love Bug? I saw a cute little 'bug' like this on Pinterest .  Jessica Williams from The Paper Caper made some cute bugs in skinny cellophane bags with red and green lollies.  I thought I would make a little Love Bug for Valentine's Day using pink and red skittles, SU's Googly Eyes, cellophane bags, Baker's Twine and a Tiny 'Love' Tag.   My 'take' isn't as cute but it was a fun little craft project that I had wanted to try out ever since Delys 'pinned' it.  My friends pin the most amazing cool stuff!

Sneak Peek and Free Templates

Image
Here's a little sneak peek at a new elephant card that I made based on a soon to be released S ALE- A - B RATION Stamp from the set called Patterned Occasions .  It is different to the print out version in my last post as it is made from a template, punches, DSP and a few accessories. Not only have I got a template for an elephant shaped card , but for a cupcake and a new coffee cup as well!  I have designed them for my upcoming workshops to highlight the gorgeous new Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper, Ribbon and Button Pack that will be available during SALE-A-BRATION time. Q. So how do you get your FREE TEMPLATES so you can make your own fun shaped cards? A. Join us at still addINKtive challenges next week where we will be featuring some of the new SAB stamp sets on offer. EVERY participant will receive a free template and if you enter 3 times, you can get all three for free. While you are over there taking a look, be sure to check out the latest ske...

SALE-A-BRATION Elephant Card

Image
This week, SUO Challenges #62 is all about using your new 'toys' and the biggest new thing for me has been to explore the Digital Software that Stampin' Up! have only recently introduced into Australia.  We don't have My Digital Studio yet but hopefully that won't be far away. The SAB pre-order gave me an opportunity to get the One Big SALE-A-BRATION 2013 Digital Disc for free so I could get a glimpse into MDS and see what all the fuss was about.  I now know and I'm excited at the possibilities! Anyway, onto my card ... this is an enlarged computer print out of the digital elephant stamp from the set called 'Patterned Occasions' .  A big thanks to my friend, Lynne , who helped me manoeuvre my way around my new graphics program (MTC) so I could finish making this elephant shaped card.     SAB Elephant Card for SUO # 68 The elephant has been hand cut and then embellished with some Tangerine Tango ribbon and a matching button.  He...

Still addINKtive Challenges # 2 - Sketch and Colour

Image
s.a. # 2 It's time for another Sketch and Colour Challenge at still addINKtive.   A different 'twist' to our challenges is that you can use both parts of the challenge or you can choose either our sketch or the colour combo to get you started.  It's entirely up to you! The sketch this week is for a square card or project featuring an image in the centre square.  I've chosen some bright summery colours, Tempting Turquoise and  Summer Starfruit to team up with one of my all time favourite colours, Chocolate Chip.   I hope you will hop on over to our challenge blog, check out the beautiful cards by the rest of the DT and be inspired to play along with us this week. Here's the sketch and colour combo - s.a. # 2 I made a Desk Top Calendar Box and used a step by step downloadable tutorial by Connie Babbert from Inkspired Treasures. Here's My Project Recipe: Stamp Sets:  Tea Shoppe, Flock Together Card Stock:  Whis...

SU Coffee Cup Card Tutorial for Sale-a-bration

Image
Coffee Cup Card Tutorial and Template BJE4 $2.50 (AUD) This post is just to let you know about my new 'mini' tutorial and template that I have for sale.  I recently posted a coffee cup card that I had made from a cutting file so I wasn't able to share that one with you.  I received quite a few emails about it so I thought I would try and make my very first computer generated template from scratch.   Thankfully my friend, Lynne , stepped in to save the day. With her computer knowledge and expertise we were able to use 'Make the Cut' to produce an original file we were happy with. Lynne made an MTC cutting file which she will share on the MTC forum but I am selling the pdf file and my tutorial, here on my blog, as not everybody has access to a whizz bang cutting machine. I have used the upcoming Sale-a-bration DSP (Sycamore Street), matching ribbon and the coffee stamp out of the stamp set called, Patterned Occasions to decorate my card. ...
