Just Add Ink Challenge #37 - Colour

Image
Just Add Ink Challenge #37 There's a colour challenge on this week at Just Add Ink. I used a brand new set called 'Funky Four' because I thought it really suited the colour palette. The Colours for this Week's Challenge I must admit that I hadn't stamped for the entire month of September and the combination of a loss of mojo, wondering which new stamp set I was going to use, a heap of housework and just plain tiredness from catching up with some sleep after the trip home from Bali (a long delayed flight thanks to Jetstar) was enough to just about 'do my head in with this challenge'! After nearly 3 hours this is what I came up with, not to mention all the previous hours trying to think out a plan of attack!~ Well, I finally came up with something after several bits 'n' bobs going in the bin! Hope you like! Project Recipe: Stamp Sets: Funky Four, Hello Again, Woodgrain Ink: All the challenge colours with either Classic Stampin' Pads or Stam...

There's a competition posted every day and three challenges every week, plus a heap of amazing tutorial packs to buy. Why don't you check out this 'Wheely Great Cause'? The link is on my side bar and at the beginning of this post. With my card for this week, I also went with the idea of a birthday card for a little boy!! I think Hudson will be turning three next birthday?? I cracked open my pack off Ballet Blue Cardstock and took the wrapping off the matching ink pad that I had bought months ago to combine with th...

A Card to Welcome Baby Elijah

Image
Welcome Baby Elijah Congratulations to Andrew and Sarah who welcomed baby Elijah into their family. Well, I said I'd be back with a card that actually uses more little animals other than the Owl from my Fox and Friends ' Stamp Set! I have to admit that it's the first time they have seen ink as the owl image completely took over and it was worth every cent to buy the set just to get my hands on that stamp! I have also used this week's sketch at Just Add Ink again (not my official submission). I had originally thought of doing the b a b y letters for the four squares and the cute little animals but decided to go with the Retro Fresh look using Cheep Talk instead ( See today's earlier post ). I just changed the sketch slightly to have the ribbon going down the side and an added sentiment wasn't necessary as the letters from my NEW TIMELESS TYPE Sizzlit Dies say it all! I love 'em! A Close Up of My New SU Timeless Type Sizzlit Die Cuts Thanks to the ladie...

Baby Onesie This card was made to celebrate the arrival of Frankie Analyn. Congratulations to Sarah and Sam on the arrival of their gorgeous baby daughter. A new little arrival was a good enough reason to give it a whirl through my Big Shot today and make a very quick and easy card for the proud parents of cute, little Frankie. As you can see, my favourite owl stamp features yet again!! I have now inked up a few more little creatures from Fox and Friends to make another card but you won't see that one until later tomorrow. Just Add Ink Challenge # 15 - Sketch

Image
Coffee for Tess Here's my take on this week's sketch at Just Add Ink . I had so ... much fun putting this one together. It's a combination of an idea I've had for ages plus an idea from my lovely friend, Amanda. I was waiting for the right time to make a card using the sentiment, "Chocolate, coffee, men - some things are better rich" and show the three said 'objects' but was always stuck for an idea on how I was going to 'stamp' the chocolate. Up until the last minute it was going to be a chocolate cupcake until I remembered about the DSP from 'Good Morning Sunshine' - perfect! Amanda and I had talked about ways we could use 'Tess' other than with her collection of stamp supplies and she came up with the coffee cup and matching sentiment. So I blended the two ideas for this week's sketch. I hope it brings a smile to your face! JAI Challenge # 15 - Sketch Chocolate made from Good Morning Sunshine DSP, Brushed Silver Card...

Mojo Monday Sketch 117 - A Card for Baby K

Image
A Card for Baby K I have followed the Mojo Monday site for quite a while and love their sketches, but had not got around to entering into the fun until now! Here's a card I made for the staff at school to sign. It's for our surfie Chaplain, Dave and his lovely wife, Suzie, who are expecting their first child just after Christmas. To begin with, I wanted to use my So Saffron ribbon from the Ribbon Bundle promotion that SU ran a couple of months back, as I thought it would look cute on a gender neutral baby card. I then looked at the Color Coach and went from there. Mojo Monday helped me with the sketch and it was plain sailing from then on! Once the colour and layout has been worked out, it's much easier to find the stamp set/s that you want to use. I've heard a few people say to me lately that they can never seem to come up with ideas on how to make a card that they haven't CASED (copied and shared). I can recommend having a go at some of the challenges offered ...

Thai Poo I had so much fun making this card (After a spot of Report writing first, as one has to get their priorities right!). The lovely Jim (our Business Manager at work) and his daughter, Victoria, have recently come back from a Mission's trip to Thailand. They know that I LOVE to make cards and brought me back two rolls of handmade paper made from ... elephant poo! How awesome! I couldn't wait to make something with it. There will be more creations to follow, as I can guarantee they will be a hit in the School Office! Here's the Project Recipe - Stamps: Wild About You, Owl Together Now, Birthday Wish Ink: Basic Gray, Ruby Red, Basic Black Cardstock: Going Gray (textured), Whisper White and Red Elephant Poo Paper! Accessories: Clips Assortment, Haiku DSP, 1 3/4" and Wide Oval Punches, Stamping Sponges, Distressing Tool from Cutter Kit, Aqua Painter, Stampin' Dimensionals Hope this brought a little smile :) Bronwyn
