Some Fussy Cutting for an 18th Birthday Frame

JAI 69 - Fussy Cutting

This week's challenge at Just Add Ink is to add some Fussy Cutting. So why don't you get out the paper snips and see what intricate detail you can add to your paper craft project.

The team have gone all out to provide some amazing inspiration so I hope you can find the time to play along.

My 'Vintage Style' Frame was made for our DD who just recently turned 18. She thought that I had actually bought it like this, so I guess I'll take that as a compliment ... I think?

Here are the details:
Stamp Sets: Clearly for You, Artistic Etchings, Easter Blossoms, Aviary
Ink: Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Basic Black
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: Regals DSP (Cajun Craze), Newsprint DSP (18), Victoria Crochet Trim, Vintage Trinkets, Antique Brad, Dimensionals
Non SU: Oval and Tag Nesties, Crochet Flower (hand made by yours truly)

Happy crafting,

JAI 68 - Colour

JAI 68 - Colour

This week at Just Add Ink we have a lovely colour combo from Tania Gould.

I decided to try out another Twisted Easel Card but used different measurements this time so it stayed a square shape to fit easily into the envelopes that I had (26cms x 13cms, scored in the middle for the basic card fold and then the top square was scored diagonally).

This is a belated Mother's Day Card for my mum as she loves to knit and I'll hand it to her on Sunday when she comes to visit.

Project Details:
Stamp Sets: Hand Knit, Forest Friends
Ink: Baja Breeze, White Staz On
Card Stock: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Perfect Plum
Accessories: Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP (retired), Frost White Shimmer Paint, White Gel Pen, Basic Rhinestones, Subtles DSP, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Lots of Tags Sizzlits Die, Pear Pizzazz 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon (gathered and knotted at each end), Dimensionals, Sponge Daubers, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder
Non-SU: Toothpicks and Wool

Melbourne Convention Snap Shots

The absolute highlight for me was hanging out with our wonderful team mates from Just Add Ink. I just hope I can catch up with the other four members at some stage as it was such a blast getting to know these fabulous ladies.

Back L - R: Tania Gould, Me, Jodene Tripp, Paula Dobson, Jo Eades
Front L - R: Kim Badelt, Nikki Spencer, Mae Collins, Delys Cram

Our Kind-Hearted Volunteer Photographers (dubbed the Paparazzi)

The guy on the far right was the official photographer and you can see a photo of us on Shelli's Blog. Seriously, how cool is that???

I just love this photo of Delys and Paula, the two NZ gals on the JAI Team. It was taken just before the first main session.

Here's Sharnee Torrents (a fellow Tassie friend/demo/'side line') doing a Workshop WOW on stage.

We were in awe of her torn paper frame demonstration. Super job!!!

Jodene and Paula waiting for the Make 'n' Take Session to begin

I had a lovely photo of Cathy Clark and Peggy Quarmby from WA too but just realised it contained pictures of Sneak Peeks that I couldn't 'crop' so will have to share another post at a later date. Sorry girls :(

Don't you love this? A Diet Coke accompanied by a piece of pavlova and cherry ripe slice. It was fun to dine out at the Crown for a couple of nights.

Bonnie Thurber is my all-time favourite presenter from Head Office and I think this was the 'Birds and Bees' talk she gave which was extremely entertaining.

Delys got to share her expertise with her amazing scrapbooking samples. I just loved watching her do a variety of brilliant techniques. You rock, Delys!

It was great to meet the lovely, Melissa Davies, one of our regular challenge supporters at Just Add Ink.

My 'Partner in Crime'

I forgot my camera for the dinner so I've pinched this photo from Jodene :)

Far left is the gorgeous, Christine Blain, who is also a wonderful supporter of our Challenge Blog and Tina Gillespie (Third from Back Left) who was a Guest Designer with us last month. The very vivacious, Moana Dawson is the chick on the far left at the front. I had such fun sharing accommodation with her, Delys, Paula, Andrea (Delys' sister) and Mae. I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of 'roomies' and have never laughed so hard in all my life!! We must get together again real soon!!

Well, that's just a small sample of all the photos that I took. I hope you enjoyed having a browse through my snapshots.

I would really love to try out some of the wonderful ideas that were shared at Convention but that will have to wait until the June Holidays as I'm now busy with report writing and our DD turns 18 on Saturday!! There are never enough hours in the day to craft!!!

JAI 67 - Sketch

Good morning! It's Friday and that means it's my day off from work and I can catch up on some housework, SWAPS for Melbourne and squeeze in a spot of shopping in preparation for next week's Stampin' Up! Convention in Melbourne! Yay!!

Crazy for Cupcakes

This week at Just Add Ink we have a sketch for you. I'm happy to say that this is the very first one that I have designed and was so excited to put it together using a graphics program that I purchased over the Summer Break.

I hope it inspires you to play along.

Most of the JAI Team will be going away for Convention so we have extended the challenge for another week and entries close on Wednesday 18th May at midnight.

JAI 67 - Sketch

I had so many ideas for this sketch that it was difficult to settle on one and I pulled a bit of a late nighter (early morning) to whip this up. My mojo had taken a hike as it was difficult to get butterflies and easel cards out of my brain to produce this very CAS card. I also wanted to use some stuff in my stash that hadn't seen 'daylight' yet! Hence, the big dilemma as I have quite a bit of stuff that fits into that category. Embarrassing!!

This is a better photo to highlight the Frost White Shimmer Paint
on the little cupcakes.

Project Recipe:
Stamp Set: Crazy for Cupcakes
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink
Ink/Markers: Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Frost White Shimmer Paint, Subtles Buttons, Large Oval Punch, XL Scallop Oval Punch, Dimensionals, Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack, Sponge Dauber
Non-SU: Cupcakes, Polka Dot Embossing Folders, Nesties Oval, Bookmark Die

You've got heaps of time to join in on the fun so go and check out the amazing inspiration from our talented DT and Guest Designers over at Just Add Ink and link up your creation.

Happy Stamping!
