Don't Make Things Complicated!

Image
Hey there! ... I think the post title will become my new motto.  If you're like me most cards require a minimum of an hour or two (or even more) to make.  I tend to toil over every little detail and half a day has gone before I know it. Today I had this 'ah ha' moment because I needed two cards pronto and I was actually contemplating on buying them as my craft mojo had taken a hike ... yikes! ... imagine that with $$$$ of supplies in my very own craft room.  You see, I'm off on a little holiday with my mum tomorrow and time is precious, so I decided to just make them very clean, simple, quick and easy and guess what? ... I actually like them. The first one was a request from my daughter; a birthday card for a friend.  It had to have a tree stamp or something 'naturey' and have a copper 'element' on it.  I did have some copper coloured paper in my stash so I stamped the cute little tree from Happy Scenes on it, cut it out with a circle punch, glued i...

CASology 161 - PLAID

Image
Hi there and welcome to addINKtive designs . Today I'm sharing a card that I demoed for a small group of grade 9/10 students. Every Wednesday I take a 'study' group; it consists of a handful of students that have chosen not to do Automotive or Sport's Leaders as one of their electives. I try and mix it up each week and do a variety of activities.  Their English teacher had asked if I could get them to make some Thank You Cards for guest speakers and other visitors etc. He didn't have to 'twist my arm' to get me to bring my favourite hobby into the classroom. The brief was to keep the cards fairly clean and simple, (CAS) and I provided a limited amount of stamps, punches and ink and a large supply of washi tape (I had a bit of a thing about washi back in 2012 and have quite a collection hoard). Here's one card that I ' demoed ' -   I had the latest CASology Challenge in mind when I chose to use this PLAID fabric washi that was in my...

CASE-ing the Catty Challenge #6 - Kids

Image
This week at CTC we are CASE-ing our way through the Kids' section of the Stampin' Up! ® catalogue. I had fun using my new Blendabilities to colour this adorable image which is a sneak peek of the 'Bearing Gifts' Christmas stamp (available 28th August) from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue .     CTC 6 - Kids     As you can see from the above picture, I chose a very clean and simple sketch (CAS) from the second card on page 86. I hope you can join us for CASE-ing the Catty Challenge #6 .  Just find a project between pages 82 and 93 of the Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue that inspires you and get creating!

Word Bubbles for CASology

Image
'Bubbly' is the code word at CASology this week and instead of thinking all things 'fizzy', I went off in another direction and decided to focus on Word Bubbles . Word Bubbles The shape of the card was made using the Round Bubble Punch (Digital Download) from MDS (My Digital Studio), designed in the Silhouette Studio and cut out with my Silhouette Cameo.  The sentiments are from the new stamp set, Just Sayin' which you can purchase as a bundle with matching Word Bubbles Framelits Dies.   I think they are becoming a firm favourite of mine at the moment (Release date in Australia is the 28th January - Woo Hoo!). I also love the new Sweet Sorbet DSP that is coming out as one of the Sale-a-bration freebies at the end of the month.  I think that all those little coloured dots kind of look like bubbles and  fit in nicely with the 77th theme at CASology. Thanks, Melissa and co. for a great challenge site and thanks for stopping by,

CAS Pansy Punch

Here's a really quick and easy card which features the new Gingham Garden DSP and the Pansy Punch .  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and the edging of the white card stock has been cut from the Finishing Touches Edgelits .
