The Lollipop Ladies #49 - Fantales with Text There's a new challenge over at the Lollipop Ladies .   This fortnight we have the delicious treat, often consumed in Movie Theatres all around the country - Fantales.   (I used to love reading about all the famous people on the wrappers). The extra little challenge is to add text to your project. I used SU's colours Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight to match the Fantale Wrappers... ... added a die cut (movie film) from EZ Cut to keep with the Fantale theme and then a few embellishments to finish off the card. It's the fifth challenge of the month at Dynamic Duos and that means a little diversion from the usual colour mix.  Lesley has chosen Crumb Cake as the challenge colour but the exciting thing is that you get to team it up with a colour of your choice. For my daughter's birthday, which was way back in May, I made a card using Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze because Laura's favourite colour is 'rust'. Laura's Birthday Card for DD #9 - Mix and Match I used one of my cute stamp sets from Technique Tuesday called, 'Life is Good' and made an easel card from SU's Framelit Dies. I really love the 'linen' look that is created when you stamp on textured card stock.  The gorgeous leafy flourish is cut from a Cheery Lynn Die called Mini Fanciful Flourish . The Colour Duo To complete the inside of the card, I used the negative of the die and sponged with Crumb Cake to make a patterned stencil of the leaves.  ...

I'm loving the June holiday break as I get a little extra time to potter in my craft room and enter some of my favourite challenges. I think this is the first time I have entered a challenge at Annabelle Stamps and seeing they have a gorgeous colour combo, I thought I would ink up my brand new 'Garden Silhouette' Stamps for the occasion.  Hello Friend The challenge this week    I used the SU Colours of Perfect Plum , Baja Breeze and Rich Razzleberry.   It's been way too long since I entered a challenge at the Shabby Tea Room .  Here's a sneak peek at the card I made today using the following photo for inspiration -   The theme is Sweet Summertime using the beautiful photo for inspiration and the colours TEAL or AQUA, PINK and BROWN. You can see why I couldn't resist as I have been enjoying making some tea cup easel cards lately.  However, this one is a little different as I have used the largest Nested Tea Cup Die and some gorgeous Origami Paper, Kaiser Craft Flowers and a little 'chocolate'.  Sweet Summertime Inspiration ...  ... at The Shabby Tea Room ... ... using aqua, pink and brown . Wow!  Can you believe it's Week 4 at Dynamic Duos already?   We have a Monochromatic Colour Duo for you today (same colours in different hues, light/dark). DD #4 - Monochromatic   Eastern Tea Cup I was cutting out a few Tea Cup Easel Card Kits a couple of weeks ago and decided to cut an extra one in the Dynamic Duo Colours and use a very old, but much loved stamp set, Eastern Influences . I just love the image of the birds and couldn't part with the set when it retired a while back. Colour Duo #4 - I've decided to CELEBRATE this week because I have reached a couple of milestones.  This is my 400th post and I have just tipped over 300 followers on my blog!  By way of saying thank you to those that stop by, I'm offering one of my tutorials for free!  A Card for Mum A huge big Happy Mother's Day to all the mums out there.  I'm looking forward to spending the day with my mum today. As I promised, I'm sharing the third card that a former student of mine, Jessi Rose, made during a day of crafting at my place.  It was lovingly made for her mum for Mother's Day, so I haven't been able to post it on my blog until today.  I'm sure she will love it ...  and ... yes ... Tracey, ... I did use my Portable Studio to take a picture of the card.  :) LOL x Jessi Rose chose to use Pool Party, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip.  What a gorgeous colour combo. Tea Cup Easel Card Hi there!  Just a quick post to let you know that I have almost finished a tutorial for my Tea Cup Easel Card just in time for Mother's Day!  I made a few slight modifications to the original design and used a different colour combo. Update - April 30th, 2012 The tutorial is now available to purchase as a pdf file for $4 (AUD) and Australian residents will have the option of buying a kit (die cuts only - no stamped images) and the tutorial for $10 (includes postage). I have used the beautiful Elements of Style stamp and colour combo from SU, consisting of Pool Party, Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake, along with a variety of dies from three other companies (See project recipe from original post). High Tea for Mother's Day  JAI 112 - Colour Challenge   There is an absolutely scrumptious colour challenge at JUST ADD INK and the combo was perfect for this little tea cup easel card that I designed.
