A Spec-tacular New Adventure

Image
My niece needed a card for one of the optometrists at her work as she is moving back home to Brisbane.  This was the 'design brief' - I want an extra special card for everyone to write in It needs to be A5 size or a little bigger and say something along the lines of "good luck with your new adventure" As hipster as possible She likes mustard, grey and navy blue tones Thanks to a great Silhouette Cutting File and some awesome SU stamps, embossing folders and DSP, I think I managed to tick all the boxes; very hipster don't you think?  You can't go wrong with chevrons!    Colour Palette - Basic Gray, Delightful Dijon and Night of Navy   To complete the project, a very large envelope was made using the Envelope Punch Board - such an awesome tool! Coffee and Soccer and a World of Dreams

Image
Making a card for a bloke is always a tricky assignment for me.  I much prefer adding girly embellishments, pretty pastels and ribbon.  However, I was given the task of making a farewell card for one of our male work colleagues; knowing that he really loves his coffee and isn't a half bad soccer player to boot, this idea seemed appropriate -       A cutting file from the Silhouette Store, the Hexagon Hive Die and a great sentiment from the World of Dreams Stamp Set, made a good combo for a quick and easy card. Vintage Vans - Card and Gift Box

Image
My brother turned 50 today and we celebrated his 'milestone' birthday at the Fifties Diner  in Deloraine.  His hobby is restoring wooden vintage caravans so when I spotted these cutting files in the Silhouette Store , I just had to make a set for his birthday. Happy Birthday, Andrew!   The Card        I made a little gift card holder for inside the card.   The Gift Box       The colour scheme is Marina Mist, Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White.  I used some Polka Dot DSP and ribbon from my retired stash and filled the little gift box with Jelly Bellies, Starburst Berries and Cola lollies.  A while back I bought him an early birthday pressie (a book on vintage caravans) which inspired this card -    http://addinktivedesigns.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/scalloped-tag-easel-card-with-punch-art.html   Thanks for visiting.  I've shown you the b...

SUO 103 - Geometrical Shapes

Image
Wowee! Life has been hectic lately but I'm so pleased that I managed to get this project completed in time for SUO 103 .  This fortnight we are challenging you to make a project using Geometric Shapes and to 'move away' from the usual rectangles and squares that tend to feature in many paper craft projects. I went with a Hexagon Theme with my 3D download, DSP, die, stamp, punch and tag!        I just love the Cool Like That Giftable Templates and have waited to share the six sided box with lid so I could feature if for this challenge. I'm pretty chuffed with how it turned out. As many of you know, I am passionate about using MDS downloads with my e-cutter. It's fun and the possibilities are endless. I hope I have inspired you to play along with our Geometric Shapes Challenge over at SUO.     Design Team Blogs - SUO Challenge Blog Bronwyn Eastley Connie Babbert Julie Gearinger Justin Krieger Karen Barber ...
