Life is Good

Image
Life Is Good Here's one last card to share for now ...  until my craft room is clean and tidy again! I cut a round card from a pre-cut, square shaped card using the Scallop Circle Die from SU!  The gorgeous stamp is from Technique Tuesday (Life is Good) and has been dry embossed (Square Lattice) for added texture.  A little black and white gingham ribbon was tied around the scored side to finish it off. All I can say is ... life is certainly good at the moment :)

Dynamic Duos #9

Image
It's the fifth challenge of the month at Dynamic Duos and that means a little diversion from the usual colour mix.  Lesley has chosen Crumb Cake as the challenge colour but the exciting thing is that you get to team it up with a colour of your choice. For my daughter's birthday, which was way back in May, I made a card using Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze because Laura's favourite colour is 'rust'. Laura's Birthday Card for DD #9 - Mix and Match I used one of my cute stamp sets from Technique Tuesday called, 'Life is Good' and made an easel card from SU's Framelit Dies. I really love the 'linen' look that is created when you stamp on textured card stock.  The gorgeous leafy flourish is cut from a Cheery Lynn Die called Mini Fanciful Flourish . The Colour Duo To complete the inside of the card, I used the negative of the die and sponged with Crumb Cake to make a patterned stencil of the leaves.  ...

Dynamic Duos #2

Image
For the second awesome challenge at Dynamic Duos , I have a very CAS card to share with you.  This week we have a subtle and soft colour choice.  Pool Party is back again but teamed up with So Saffron this time - gorgeous!   These colours inspired me to ink up a new stamp from Technique Tuesday and then add a bit of sunshine courtesy of a free template from Kristina Werner. However, I printed the template onto the back of the DSP.  That's why my rays of sunshine are going in the other direction which better suits the stamped image. The colours are so summery and during our Aussie Summer I actually made a card using the same combo - :) All I can say is that Lesley has good taste when it comes to choosing the Dynamic Duos. Crafting with Jessi-Rose

Image
I had such a lovely afternoon crafting with an ex-student of mine, Jessi-Rose.  I taught her in grade 5 and 6 and she's now at Uni!  I guess age is no barrier when it comes to a shared love of card making. Here are two of the cards she made today but I can't share the third as that's a special one for Mother's Day.  I bought this stamped image only yesterday.  It is from the company, Technique Tuesday ( © 2011) .   The sentiment is a retired SU one. Colours used - Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede. Of course Jessi-Rose couldn't spend an afternoon with me without trying out my butterfly easel card.  It looks striking in black and white.  She is one talented young lady! Thanks for stopping by.  Happy crafting.
