A Butterfly Farewell for The Colour Tree

Image
Hi there.  Today's card is one that I have wanted to try for ages.  I've seen a few of these Swallowtail cut out cards on Pinterest and made this farewell card for a good friend and work colleague.  She loves purple and butterflies so I used a few complementary shades for the background and butterfly layers.  I love how it turned and decided to put the combo together for the latest challenge at The Colour Tree . #TCTC6         The Swallowtail background stamp was stamped onto the card front with Versa Mark Ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder .   A watercolour wash of Rich Razzleberry Ink (in an Aquapainter ) was added for the emboss resist technique and then splotches were stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink .  After the card front layer had dried, the shape of the butterfly was cut out and two die cuts added for extra dimension. I hope you can join in with the latest challenge by linking up yo...

Collage Stamping for CCMC #382 Colour Challenge

Image
Hi there and welcome to addINKtive designs .  Over the weekend I made a few acceptance cards and this is my favourite one of the three. The gorgeous colour palette at Create with Connie and Mary provided me with a great starting point.   The arty process involved some heat embossing with white embossing powder, some masking, watercolouring a background with aquapainters, some collage stamping then adding the embellishments. It's not my usual style but I had a lot of fun putting this one together.   Thanks so much! -  http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/create-with-connie-and-mary/2015/11/ccmc382-top-3.html Thanks for taking a peek,

Colour Me ... Subtle

Image
Welcome to addINKtive designs . I'm sharing another 'acceptance' card that I made today and decided to use the colour combo from Colour Me - Soft Suede, Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler . They are gorgeous colours for 'Fall' but it just so happens that we are nearing the end of Spring down under, so I inked up my Swallowtail stamp and did some emboss resist using the Dots Decorative Mask . Dotty Emboss Resist for CMCC #98   Instructions - 1.  Stamp Swallowtail with Versa Mark Ink onto Shimmery White Card .  2.  Heat Emboss with White Embossing Powder . 3.  Place Dots Decorative Mask over the image and use Sponge Daubers to apply the three different coloured inks. 4.  Use an Aquapainter and watercolour the rest of the butterfly image using Crushed Curry Ink . 5.  Add a sentiment using the Alphabet Rotary Stamp and secure the Blossom Accent with a Glue Dot .   Thanks cmcc!

CASEing Steffi from Stempelwiese

Image
Hi there.  Yesterday I enjoyed some time in my craft room and was loving the idea of not having to think too hard about what I wanted to create; I decided that in order to get my mojo back, I would CASE (copy and share everything) a beautiful card that I spotted over at The Global Design Project . It's a real stunner designed by Steffi Helmschrott from Stempelwiese . It's rare that I completely CASE a card right down to the layout and colour scheme but Steffi's card was sheer perfection in my book. Not only did I end up with a very pretty card, my mojo did return and for that I am extremely grateful.  I now have a list of supplies I need for another SU order, my Swallowtail stamp got inked up for the second time, I decided that I really do enjoy heat embossing and watercolouring the background and have now declared Shimmer White as my favourite card stock of all time!  It also did take my mind off the fact that I was missing being in Melbourne for On Stage with my ...
