Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Blog Hop - Holiday Collection Week 2

Image
Hi and welcome to our second  Design Team Blog Hop for Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Collection .  I'm thrilled to be a Guest Designer and will be participating in these blog hops each Saturday as well as sharing a tutorial later on, so make sure you subscribe to the Holiday Collection today! Thanks for 'hopping' here from Natasha's blog . I hope you are enjoying the wonderful card samples that the DT have made. This week I have made a card from the very festive Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper.   It's made to look like gift wrapping, complete with a paper bow made from a 'bow punch' from the 'Tags for All' Digital Kit' (MDS). The card insert slides into a pocket and it's a great design if you wanted to add a gift card to the inside as well.  I'm really enjoying playing with products from the Holiday Catalogue .  I hope you are inspired to join us at Create with Connie and Mary, Holiday Collectio...

It's Easter Time for SUO 94

Image
Hi.  This week at SUO Challenges   we are featuring Easter projects . I've made a very simple Easter Egg Card to match the bag that I made for the last challenge.  An Easter Egg Card A cutting file was made from an egg shaped template to make the card base from Wisteria Wonder Card Stock.  The overlay was cut from Fancy Foil Designer Vellum .  The 'ribbon' strips are 3/4" wide and cut from Gold Foil , complete with a bow e-cut from the Tags For All Digital Kit . There's only a small amount of stamping involved in the making of this card - 'Happy Easter' from Teeny Tiny Sentiments was stamped directly onto the vellum with Black Staz-On Ink and the centre of the bow is stamped from the Hello Lovely Stamp Set and finshed off with a Basic Pearl . I hope you will play along over the next fortnight and share your SUO Easter projects with us. Design Team Blogs - SUO Challenge Blog Bronwyn Eastley Connie Babbert Deena Boos Julie ...

Digital Punch Art - My Favourite Technique for SUO Challenges

Image
What's my favourite technique at the moment?  The answer would have to be designing little owl characters using digital punches from MDS (Digital Punch Art). All week I have been playing on my laptop (after work of course) and have been designing quite a few owl cards (mostly pirates). Today I decided to cut out and assemble my little Red Indian Owl as I was anxious  to see what it looked like in real life and not just on a computer screen.  I must admit that I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.  The challenge at SUO Challenges #79 is to "create a project using your favourite technique.  What's the technique that you use that makes you smile the most when you're working on or have completed a project?" My owl cards certainly bring a smile to my face every time I make one.  They are a bit addictive at the moment. SUO Challenges #79 - Your Favourite Technique    Digital Punch Art      Proje...

In Colour Bows and a Butterfly

Image
Can you tell that I really love the latest In Colours from SU as well as the digital punches from MDS ?  I'm a little excited that I can make paper bows using the Digital Bow Punch from the Tags For All Digital Kit, make them whatever size I like and then cut them out with my e-Cutter.  Pure bliss for the paper crafter!  Tags for All Another awesome addition to my collection is the cute little butterfly die from the Backyard Basics Bundle .  It makes the teeniest butterfly easel 'card' you've ever seen! Lovin' MDS, New In Colours and Stamps

Image
... oh! ... and all the other cool new stuff like matching punches and dies, awesome DSP and the time to stamp!   I made this easel card today for a friend's birthday - Backyard Flowers Firstly, I imported the 'Kisses Punch' from MDS, made an easel card template in my Silhouette Studio and cut out with the Cameo (electronic cutter).   I used Pistachio Pudding and Very Vanilla Card Stock.   The paper bow is made using 3 digital punches from the Tags for All Designer Template - Digital Download (Bow - bottom, middle and wrap).  I reduced it by 50% so it would fit onto the card. Tags for All was released on July 2nd and it has some great shaped tags as well as this fantastic paper bow that can be re-sized to your heart's content. The new In-Colour, Strawberry Slush DSP was used in this example.  One great feature of the paper bow is that it will sit flat for posting.  I really enjoy creating card bases with digital punc...
