Awesomely Artistic Slider Card

Image
Just in case you hadn't noticed, The Gold Trend is very popular in paper craft at the moment and Just Us Girls' Challenge this week is to " incorporate gold somewhere on your card and/or project ".  I jumped right in as I have wanted to see what Gold Glitter mixed with Crystal Effects would look like painted onto an image with a fine brush (I have done this technique with Dazzling Diamond s before). All I can say is, I love the way it turned out; so sparkly!    As you can see this is a slider card and the base was made at the Interactive Card Class I went to last week that two of my down line ran.  Jo demonstrated this technique and would you believe that this is the first time I have made a card like this!  Crazy, right? ... considering it's like an easel card :)  I didn't stay late to finish it as I wanted to use a more girly stamp set and make a thank you card for a friend; I was itching to ink up Awesomely Artistic after seeing so many be...

Boys Will Be Boys - Interactive Card Class

What a treat! ... I attended an Interactive Card Class last night that two of my 'down-line' organised.  For our first card we did some stamping with an acrylic block; it's a technique that's been around for awhile but I had never got around to trying it.  You just scribble a variety of different coloured Stampin'  Markers onto a large acrylic block, spritz the block and your card stock with water and stamp.  Very cool!  Thanks De Arn (an idea from Sharnee's card class) for demonstrating this technique.  I'm sure I will be stamping with acrylic blocks more often, as I just love the background that it creates. Secondly, the class was all about interactive cards so we made a spinner card.  Another first for me was having the spinning mechanism positioned vertically.  This made sense seeing we could choose the yo yo or parachute image from the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set.  What a fun card to make!      Down .......

A Scalloped Tag Topper Punch Card and Mini Box for Colour Q #238

Image
Hi.  Welcome to addINKtive designs .  I'm on holidays at the moment and am enjoying spending a bit more time in my craft room and thought it would be fun to enter a challenge. I absolutely love the colour combo for the latest challenge at Colour Q and used it as a 'springboard' for a couple of projects that have been on my 'to do' list. The Gorgeous Colours for this Week's Challenge There's so many different types of cards and boxes all over Blogland and Pinterest which have been created using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (SU). Yesterday, I finally got around to making two of my favourites in preparation for a team get together.   I was scoring the card stock for the mini box and realised I had cut out the wrong measurements.  Eeek!  It was my last piece of the floral pattern in the Natural Compositions Specialty DSP so had to make the so called 'matching' box from a different pattern.  Oooops!  The Scalloped Tag Topper...

The AddINKtive Designers

I got to have my first 'team' craft night on Monday and two of my down line came along to make a SAB card (previous post) , view the new pre-order goodies from the Occasions and SALE-A-BRATION Catalogues and get to generally hang out, craft, chat, eat, drink and enjoy each other's company. Jo's Stash After we had finished the Make 'n' Take , De Arn and Jo had the opportunity to have a bit of a 'free play' with some new and old products.  Jo wanted to learn how to emboss on Vellum Card Stock so we stamped one of the beautiful ' Festive Flurry ' stamps with Versa Mark and heat embossed it with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder .  Then we just couldn't resist having a play with the retired Cherry Scented EP - yum! Next, the Spiral Flower Die got a work out and Crystal Effects was added to the paper rose to form the 'dewdrops'.  Lastly, both ladies wanted to make their very own SAB Owl from various punches and the Top N...
