Coffee and Soccer and a World of Dreams

Image
Making a card for a bloke is always a tricky assignment for me.  I much prefer adding girly embellishments, pretty pastels and ribbon.  However, I was given the task of making a farewell card for one of our male work colleagues; knowing that he really loves his coffee and isn't a half bad soccer player to boot, this idea seemed appropriate -       A cutting file from the Silhouette Store, the Hexagon Hive Die and a great sentiment from the World of Dreams Stamp Set, made a good combo for a quick and easy card. SUO 103 - Geometrical Shapes

Image
Wowee! Life has been hectic lately but I'm so pleased that I managed to get this project completed in time for SUO 103 .  This fortnight we are challenging you to make a project using Geometric Shapes and to 'move away' from the usual rectangles and squares that tend to feature in many paper craft projects. I went with a Hexagon Theme with my 3D download, DSP, die, stamp, punch and tag!        I just love the Cool Like That Giftable Templates and have waited to share the six sided box with lid so I could feature if for this challenge. I'm pretty chuffed with how it turned out. As many of you know, I am passionate about using MDS downloads with my e-cutter. It's fun and the possibilities are endless. I hope I have inspired you to play along with our Geometric Shapes Challenge over at SUO.     Design Team Blogs - SUO Challenge Blog Bronwyn Eastley Connie Babbert Julie Gearinger Justin Krieger Karen Barber ...

Birds, Bees and Butterflies for SUO 96

Image
It's a Birds, Bees and Butterflies Theme at SUO Challenges this fortnight.  I went with Bees and Butterflies for my new style of easel card.  I guess you could call it an Oval Accent Step Easel Card .     I had a bit of an idea in my head about how I thought this card would 'look' but it just evolved as I went along and turned out quite different to how I had imagined. It's a bit quirky but I'm happy with the result and hope to do a tutorial on how to make this Step Easel using the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die . Side View Back View Top View - Folded Flat Pops inside a Card Size (C6) Envelope ... ... ready to post. Thanks, Linda - see post #1 Project Recipe: Stamps:  Backyard Basics, Six-Sided Sampler, Woodgrain Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar, So Saffron, Basic Black Card Stock:   So Saffron, Very Vanilla Accessories:   Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die, Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die, Ovals Collection Di...

Natural Compositions

Image
Today I'm continuing on with the Linen Thread theme but have moved onto using the Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper and Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die. The first two cards were inspired by THIS one I spotted via Pinterest. The next card was the last one that I made on Tuesday and it became obvious that it was time to call it quits.  My mojo had well and truly disappeared, so I cleared my craft desk and got ready to try some projects with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch .  More about those in the next post.
