An Easter Basket with Painted Blooms, Cotton Twine, Crochet Flowers for CTC 24

Image
Hi there and welcome to addINKtive designs.  As it's only less than a week until Good Friday, CASE-ing the Catty Challenges are looking at the  Easter section of the Occasions Catalogue (page 34 and 35)  for our challenge inspiration this week. You can directly CASE a project (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations.  Or simply use some new Stampin' Up! Easter supplies from the Occasions Catalogue. CTC 24 will run for two weeks over the holiday period and the linky will be open until Thursday 9th April. We really hope you can join us in the gallery and showcase your Easter projects. Here's my project for CTC 24 - Let's Celebrate Easter     The basket is cut from the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (SAB) with the new Berry Basket Die and sponged with Soft Sky Ink . A CAS Card and some Crochet

Image
Day 7 of the online CAS Card Making Class is entitled, Plainly White . Julie Ebersole demonstrated how to use the expanse of white space on a card to your advantage. I made the flower accent this afternoon so tonight I decided to pop it onto a clean and simple card that demonstrated some of the techniques from day 7. If you've been following my journey, you'll realise I have skipped a few days of class in my blog posts as I haven't had a lot of time to keep up with my 'homework' this week. The good thing is, I have access to it 'forever' and that's a relief because there are SO many more ideas and techniques that I want to play around with in the near future. Plainly White I used Confetti White Card Stock as it needed to match the off white colour in the flower. Flower Accent Not having done any crocheting for a few months, I went around to a friend's place and got another lesson today. I was a bit rusty but was able to g...

Some Fussy Cutting for an 18th Birthday Frame

Image
JAI 69 - Fussy Cutting This week's challenge at Just Add Ink is to add some Fussy Cutting . So why don't you get out the paper snips and see what intricate detail you can add to your paper craft project. The team have gone all out to provide some amazing inspiration so I hope you can find the time to play along. My 'Vintage Style' Frame was made for our DD who just recently turned 18. She thought that I had actually bought it like this, so I guess I'll take that as a compliment ... I think? Here are the details: Stamp Sets: Clearly for You, Artistic Etchings, Easter Blossoms, Aviary Ink: Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Basic Black Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Naturals Ivory Accessories: Regals DSP (Cajun Craze), Newsprint DSP (18), Victoria Crochet Trim, Vintage Trinkets, Antique Brad, Dimensionals Non SU: Oval and Tag Nesties, Crochet Flower (hand made by yours truly) Happy crafting,

FTL 121 - Owl Always

Image
Owl Always Well, I discovered who my Secret Santa was because a couple of her recent posts gave it away!! Today I've used the two very cute Owl Always Stamps from Unity which were inside the gorgeous packaging and recycled the DSP (Jolly Holiday) for the scalloped border. Here's a clue to the identity of the very generous person who sent all the wonderful goodies my way - I have included one of her beautiful crocheted flowers in the layout. The sketch is from the Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge Blog (FTL 121) but I was too late to link it up. The SU Colours that I used were Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla. Thanks for stopping by,

Just Add Summer and a SAB Sneak Peek

Image
Summery Sandals ... Flip Flops, Jandals or just plain 'Thongs' in Aussie Lingo ... so whatever name you call them, the good old Aussie thong represents all things sun, sand, surf and SUMMER. At Just Add Ink there's a challenge to JUST ADD SUMMER to your paper craft creation this week. To add to the Summertime Theme I have used the Stampin' Up! colours of Sahara Sand and Marina Mist . Hint: I crimped the piece of Marina Mist card stock before I traced out the template for the back of the flip flop. Just Add Summer - JAI Challenge #49 Did you notice the Sale-a-bration sneak peek? I have used the cute little flower stamp from the 2011 SAB set called 'Bliss' and I've also discovered it's a good match for one of the Antique Brads. I'll supply more details about the SAB promotion later. It's my favourite time of the Stampin' Up! Year. There's quite a few flip flop card templates in 'Blog Land' and I ...

I'm Hooked!

Image
After two lessons with Andrea, some inspiration from Amanda , another pattern from Patrice , a few You Tube Videos and a bit of blog surfing, this is what I've managed to do so far! Yes, I'm hooked but don't worry, I'm still addicted to paper craft. Some of these little flowers may appear on some cards in the not too distant future. Some Crocheted Flowers from Various Mixes of Wool, Cotton, Cashmere and Bamboo My Earlier Attempts If you're into crochet and want to pass on any of your favourite patterns/blog sites to a novice like myself, please feel free!! ;) Any input would be greatly appreciated!! I'm attempting a water bottle carrier at the moment ... the first attempt looked like a beanie so I started again and it's now looking more like what it's meant to be! Update: 6th December 2010 I have just 'moved' all non-related Stampin' Up! crafty bits 'n' pieces to my new (other) blog. You can find it at - http://bronsewhooked....
