Dynamic Duos #9

Image
It's the fifth challenge of the month at Dynamic Duos and that means a little diversion from the usual colour mix.  Lesley has chosen Crumb Cake as the challenge colour but the exciting thing is that you get to team it up with a colour of your choice. For my daughter's birthday, which was way back in May, I made a card using Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze because Laura's favourite colour is 'rust'. Laura's Birthday Card for DD #9 - Mix and Match I used one of my cute stamp sets from Technique Tuesday called, 'Life is Good' and made an easel card from SU's Framelit Dies. I really love the 'linen' look that is created when you stamp on textured card stock.  The gorgeous leafy flourish is cut from a Cheery Lynn Die called Mini Fanciful Flourish . The Colour Duo To complete the inside of the card, I used the negative of the die and sponged with Crumb Cake to make a patterned stencil of the leaves.  ...

JAI 124 - Colour Challenge

Image
JAI 124 - Colour Challenge It's so lovely to be back again with a card for the 124th challenge at Just Add Ink .  This week we have a great colour combo to get you inspired.   I had already stamped some tea cups from Sharnee's Tea Shoppe Stamp Set (SU) in various colours and the Marina Mist one came in very handy for this colour challenge.  I loved the images so much that I ended up ordering the set.  Which reminds me ...  I must go and collect it from her :)   I also loved Nikki's card that she entered in a recent challenge at Dynamic Duos and with that idea in mind, I created my own version of a tea cup sitting on a dresser.                                                                  ...

Tomorrow's Dream

Image
Tomorrow's Dream What reasons could I possibly have for blogging on a week night, especially after a busy day at work? These ones - Annabelle Stamps have a beautiful colour combo for their challenge this week. I was itching to ink up my new stamp set, 'Tomorrow's Dream'. I went to a Copics Class last Friday night and was wanting to try out some new colours (Don't look too closely though, as I'm still learning). I actually cut something out with my new Silhouette Cameo and was so .... excited.  Oh .. the possibilities! I'm temporarily avoiding the task of writing more school reports as I have gone a little stir crazy with 'all work and no play' time over the last week (My recent posts have been scheduled ones). Well, I think they are valid excuses reasons for popping in to say hi with a little challenge card :)  Here's the gorgeous colour palette -   I used SU's Basic Gray , Baja Breeze , Always Artichoke ...

Dynamic Duos #8 - Monochromatic

Image
DD # 8 - Monochromatic I love monochromatic challenges and this week at Dynamic Duos we have a beautiful combination of 'earthy' colours.  River Rock is not everyone's 'cup of tea' but it's definitely my cup of 'coffee' because I was pretty happy when SU decided to bring it back and it looks fantastic teamed up with Always Artichoke .   For my card, I inked up my new Coffee Cozy Set from Lil' Inker Designs to make a birthday card for hubby.  It should read, "I LOVE you more than coffee" and that would be 'saying something'!  :)   Be sure to check out all the other Dynamos for some 'monochromatic' inspiration - The Dynamic Duos Challenge Blog Allisa Chilton Anne Marie Hile Anika Lerche Kim Singdahlsen Lesley Croghan Lisa Elton Melissa Chipperfield Paige Grabau Sue Joyce Happy crafting! Dynamic Duos #7 - 'Black Tie' with Ribbon

Image
DD #7 - Happy 'Bird'-day Wow!  How's this for a bright and bold 'Black Tie' event for the 7th challenge at Dynamic Duos ? I love Melon Mambo and it looks stunning teamed with black.  The 'dessert option' this week is to add RIBBON . I love this style of card which I discovered through Pinterest.  You can see the previous one I made, HERE. For today's card I used a Martha Stewart Doily Lace Border Punch for the side panels, adhered 1" Melon Mambo circles behind every 'doily' and added a rhinestone to each centre.  The silhouette image is a die cut purchase from a local craft store. I'm really excited about this colour duo and look forward to seeing many creations in the gallery this week. JAI 122 - Just Add ... (CASE) Delys

Image
I'm back! ... not just with a card for another challenge, but a DT card for Just Add Ink and that makes me very happy!   JAI 122 - CASE-ing Delys I based my card on Delys Cram's JAI Autumn/Winter Mini Swap (below) which I received last year at Melbourne Convention.  In honour of my dear friend, who loves RED , I have used the beautiful rich colour, Cherry Cobbler and kept all supplies, SU! Well, I finished up last year, CASE-ing Tania and have come back to do the same for Delys.   You're probably wondering why I'm back.  I left last year because 'LIFE' pretty much got in the way and I was wondering at one stage whether I was just making cards because I had to.  Thankfully, I discovered that I was still very passionate about paper craft even though I wasn't on a DT or involved with SU.   After having lunch down in Hobart recently with Mae and Kathy, I realised just how much I missed the team.  They are a great...

Bizzy Bec's June Challenge - Bright, Cheery and Colourful

Image
Bizzy Bec's June Challenge is to make a paper craft project that is bright, cheery and colourful ... Perched Reed Bird ... and Cheryl has given us this photo for some colourful inspiration - My Memory Box Dies arrived in the mail today so I just had to crack open the packet containing the cute Perched Reed Bird and make a card with it. I have used the negative of the die so you can see the bright blue card stock on the inside.  Well, it looks a lot darker in the photo but it is SU's Pacific Point and believe me, it is a bright colour!  Some masking tape (Music) was added, then a row of bright and colourful, Sweet Button Embosslits . I can see that this little Memory Box Die is going to get plenty of use and was certainly worth the wait. Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Dynamic Duos #6 - Subtly Yours

DD #6 - April Showers This week at Dynamic Duos we have a subtle colour combination of   Regal Rose and Basic Gray. To create this little scene, I cracked open my  new set, 'April Showers' from Flourishes and the cute cloud dies from PTI. This set has some gorgeous images.  I can't wait to play with the rest.  Be sure to visit the other Dynamos for some creative inspiration - The Dynamic Duos Challenge Blog Allisa Chilton Anne Marie Hile Anika Lerche Kim Singdahlsen Lesley Croghan Lisa Elton Melissa Chipperfield Paige Grabau Sue Joyce Happy crafting!

Plum, Blue, Raspberry and Pearls

Image
I'm loving the June holiday break as I get a little extra time to potter in my craft room and enter some of my favourite challenges. I think this is the first time I have entered a challenge at Annabelle Stamps and seeing they have a gorgeous colour combo, I thought I would ink up my brand new 'Garden Silhouette' Stamps for the occasion.  Hello Friend The challenge this week    I used the SU Colours of Perfect Plum , Baja Breeze and Rich Razzleberry. Plus ... I couldn't go past the challenge at Just Add Ink to add pearls to your project! Thanks so much for stopping by.

The Lollipop Ladies #47

Image
The Lollipop Ladies have a very sweet challenge this fortnight with JELLY BABIES as the theme with the additional challenge of RIBBON . The Lollipop Ladies # 47 - Jelly Babies with Ribbon What makes this challenge even sweeter, is the fact that I was asked a while back to join the Design Team and this is my first submission as a 'Lollipop Lady'.  Woo hoo! So ...  with the Jelly Baby Theme in mind, I went with a multi-coloured baby card in the shape of a pram and of course added some white taffeta ribbon to complete my project.   I have made these little pram cards before using a scallop circle die.  This time I used a Blossom Nestie from Spellbinders for a different look.   Here's a little story to finish off my post for today - When my son was nearly three I broke the news to him that he was going to have a little baby brother or sister very soon.  He thought for a few seconds and responded with ... "Well , I'd much...
