A Wonderful Journey for The Colour Tree

Image
Hi there.  Today's card is the fourth colour combo from a set of cards I made a few months ago.  This was my favourite colour palette so I saved it especially for Challenge #9 at The Colour Tree .     I hope you'll join me for the latest challenge at TCT. You can view the original post HERE (Cards inspired by Jenny Hayward). Thanks for stopping by,

A Butterfly Farewell for The Colour Tree

Image
Hi there.  Today's card is one that I have wanted to try for ages.  I've seen a few of these Swallowtail cut out cards on Pinterest and made this farewell card for a good friend and work colleague.  She loves purple and butterflies so I used a few complementary shades for the background and butterfly layers.  I love how it turned and decided to put the combo together for the latest challenge at The Colour Tree . #TCTC6         The Swallowtail background stamp was stamped onto the card front with Versa Mark Ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder .   A watercolour wash of Rich Razzleberry Ink (in an Aquapainter ) was added for the emboss resist technique and then splotches were stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink .  After the card front layer had dried, the shape of the butterfly was cut out and two die cuts added for extra dimension. I hope you can join in with the latest challenge by linking up yo...

Trend Week at Just Us Girls - Sequins

Image
I just love a splattering of sequins on a card and this week at Just Us Girls the theme is to use them somewhere on your project.  Gold and Blushing Bride Sequin Trim were used on this set of cards that I made for some of the 'Leavers' at school. I spotted a card on Pinterest that used the stamp from I Think You're Great as a background to the Beautiful Butterfly Die and loved the idea (Jenny Hayward) .  Each of the background stamps on my cards were sponged with a colour duo and every one features a different embossed background.  ( Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant )   ( Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo )   ( Wild Wasabi and Mossy Meadow ) ( Fluttering, Honeycomb and Elegant Dots Embossing Folders ) Be sure to hop on over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Site and check out the sequined cards.  It's the last challenge for the year before they go on a short break.  Thanks for stopping by,

A Spec-tacular New Adventure

Image
My niece needed a card for one of the optometrists at her work as she is moving back home to Brisbane.  This was the 'design brief' - I want an extra special card for everyone to write in It needs to be A5 size or a little bigger and say something along the lines of "good luck with your new adventure" As hipster as possible She likes mustard, grey and navy blue tones Thanks to a great Silhouette Cutting File and some awesome SU stamps, embossing folders and DSP, I think I managed to tick all the boxes; very hipster don't you think?  You can't go wrong with chevrons!    Colour Palette - Basic Gray, Delightful Dijon and Night of Navy   To complete the project, a very large envelope was made using the Envelope Punch Board - such an awesome tool! Coffee and Soccer and a World of Dreams

Image
Making a card for a bloke is always a tricky assignment for me.  I much prefer adding girly embellishments, pretty pastels and ribbon.  However, I was given the task of making a farewell card for one of our male work colleagues; knowing that he really loves his coffee and isn't a half bad soccer player to boot, this idea seemed appropriate -       A cutting file from the Silhouette Store, the Hexagon Hive Die and a great sentiment from the World of Dreams Stamp Set, made a good combo for a quick and easy card. CASEing the Catty - Anything Goes

Image
Hi there and welcome to addINKtive designs .  Thanks for joining us on our Friday night CASEing the Catty Blog Hop .   The CTC Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! ® Demonstrators who love to use the SU Catalogue for inspiration. This week it's 'Anything Goes' .  The crew's challenge - CASE (Copy and Share Everything) a project that really caught your eye the first time you flicked through the catty.   All I can say is, I had quite a few lovely projects in mind but settled on a card from page 95 of the brand new annual catalogue, as the World of Dreams stamp set is one of my faves and using the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum for the base of the card was such a neat idea that I just had to CASE!   Here's my card -        To make mine a little different, I added some gold sequins, included the bird stamp on the doily and used the five new gorgeous In Colours:  Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron a...

CASE-ing the Catty Challenge #16 - New DSP

Image
This week at CASE-ing the Catty we are taking inspiration from the Sale-a-bration Catalogue and using some new SAB DSP or new to you, SU Designer Series Paper on our projects. There's some gorgeous new Specialty DSP in the SAB Catty called Irresistibly Yours and it can be yours for FREE with a $90 (AUD) SU order.  "This white paper with a glossy white pattern is perfect for colouring using a variety of techniques - colouring reveals the pattern".  I LOVE the stuff and have used sponge daubers with ink to create the ombre background for my card. CTC 16 - New DSP   I was inspired by the beautiful card on page 14 of the SAB Catty which uses the Irresistibly Yours DSP and the spritzing method -   Method for CTC 16 - I started off applying Marina Mist ink with a sponge dauber, followed by Pool Party then Soft Sky , blending the colours from dark to light from top to bottom of the card.  The bird images ...

A Great Sketch + New Stamps + Kraft Cardstock = World of Dreams

Image
I absolutely LOVE the latest sketch at Just Add Ink and the fact that my BBB finally arrived (It took the scenic route with Australia Post) with all my new goodies inside. ' World of Dreams ' stamp set was at the top of my wish list and now I own it and it's been inked - yay!, along with the new Kraft Card Stock - yippee!  So ... before I went to work today, I had my craft 'fix' and made this card - JAI #223   The Truly Awesome Sketch! I really like the look of black ink on Kraft card stock and was inspired by some lovely tags I spotted on Pinterest with that neutral combination.   It was very therapeutic to finally ink up some new stamps and play along with this great sketch.  Thanks for stopping by,
