Dynamic Duos #9

Image
It's the fifth challenge of the month at Dynamic Duos and that means a little diversion from the usual colour mix.  Lesley has chosen Crumb Cake as the challenge colour but the exciting thing is that you get to team it up with a colour of your choice. For my daughter's birthday, which was way back in May, I made a card using Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze because Laura's favourite colour is 'rust'. Laura's Birthday Card for DD #9 - Mix and Match I used one of my cute stamp sets from Technique Tuesday called, 'Life is Good' and made an easel card from SU's Framelit Dies. I really love the 'linen' look that is created when you stamp on textured card stock.  The gorgeous leafy flourish is cut from a Cheery Lynn Die called Mini Fanciful Flourish . The Colour Duo To complete the inside of the card, I used the negative of the die and sponged with Crumb Cake to make a patterned stencil of the leaves.  ...

Larger Butterfly Easel Card Tutorial

Image
Tutorial for the Larger Butterfly Easel Card BJE1 Yay! I have finally put together a tutorial for the larger butterfly easel card that I designed. I have had quite a few requests over the last year for the instructions so after sweating it out on this very hot Australia Day Holiday, taking numerous photos and doing lots of editing, here it is. For the very reasonable price of $4.00 (AUD) , I will email you a three page pdf document for personal use. However, I would ask that if it is used for Stamp Clubs and Workshops etc. that you would direct your customers to my blog so they can purchase their own personal copy. For extra ideas I have included several photos of other designs that I have created.  To purchase the tutorial, please go to My Tutorials for Sale Section at the top of my blog. .......................................................... As a bonus, you will receive the pdf instructions for the smaller Butterfly Easel Card. This photo show...

Beautiful Blue Wings

Image
Beautiful Blue Wings I've been spending a bit of time on Pinterest lately and came across a beautiful card that I wanted to CASE. You can see the gorgeous rainbow coloured butterfly card (by Ashlee Townsend) that inspired me at Muse My World . Isn't it gorgeous? I have also seen a lot of projects made from paint chip cards (great idea) so I raided one of the local paint shops and came home with some 'samples' in various shades of blue and combined the two ideas to make my card. All other supplies are from Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by,

JAI 93 - Colour Challenge

Image
JAI 93 - Mum's Birthday Card We have the most beautiful colour combination for the Just Add Ink Challenge this week, brought to us by our talented DT Member, Kim . If you'd like to play along, all you have to do is make a paper craft project using the gorgeous colours below (or similar), post it on your blog and link it up to the JAI challenge site. My 'project' was affectionately dubbed the ' Rocking Horse ' card by some of the DT on our JAI Ning Site because of its unusual shape as you can see from the back view - Back View I got the idea for this style of card from the latest free Kaiser Craft Workshop Magazine, November 2011 . It features on the front cover and on page 8. I stuck pretty much to the layout and used a variety of stuff that was in my stash (long project recipe to follow). It's a tad more tizzy than the norm for me but I enjoyed using lots of different accessories. Project Recipe - Stamps: Forever Young, Happiest Birthday Wishes Ink...
