Trend Week at Just Us Girls - Sequins

Image
I just love a splattering of sequins on a card and this week at Just Us Girls the theme is to use them somewhere on your project.  Gold and Blushing Bride Sequin Trim were used on this set of cards that I made for some of the 'Leavers' at school. I spotted a card on Pinterest that used the stamp from I Think You're Great as a background to the Beautiful Butterfly Die and loved the idea (Jenny Hayward) .  Each of the background stamps on my cards were sponged with a colour duo and every one features a different embossed background.  ( Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant )   ( Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo )   ( Wild Wasabi and Mossy Meadow ) ( Fluttering, Honeycomb and Elegant Dots Embossing Folders ) Be sure to hop on over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Site and check out the sequined cards.  It's the last challenge for the year before they go on a short break.  Thanks for stopping by,

Birds, Bees and Butterflies for SUO 96

Image
It's a Birds, Bees and Butterflies Theme at SUO Challenges this fortnight.  I went with Bees and Butterflies for my new style of easel card.  I guess you could call it an Oval Accent Step Easel Card .     I had a bit of an idea in my head about how I thought this card would 'look' but it just evolved as I went along and turned out quite different to how I had imagined. It's a bit quirky but I'm happy with the result and hope to do a tutorial on how to make this Step Easel using the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die . Side View Back View Top View - Folded Flat Pops inside a Card Size (C6) Envelope ... ... ready to post. Thanks, Linda - see post #1 Project Recipe: Stamps:  Backyard Basics, Six-Sided Sampler, Woodgrain Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar, So Saffron, Basic Black Card Stock:   So Saffron, Very Vanilla Accessories:   Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die, Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die, Ovals Collection Di...

Mum's 75th Birthday Card

Image
My mum turns 75 tomorrow so I made an extra special card for an extra special lady!   I have had a few emails from people wondering whether they had bought the right die to make my little butterfly easel card.  The photos can be deceptive as the smaller butterfly easel card is indeed quite tiny and it makes a great place card or gift card but is way too small to post all on its own.  So, one idea is to attach it to a 'base'.  I used the Scallop Circle Bigz Die and added two circles for the contrasting layers and then glued my little butterfly easel on top.  There is heaps of room to write a message underneath on the base of the card.  To ensure that the butterfly stays propped up, I attached a sentiment using the edging from a packet of Stampin' Dimensionals.  Here's the back view.    Now it's just the right size to pop in the post. Marie's Circle Butterfly Easel Card

Image
A lovely lady by the name of Marie Hopkins emailed me a few weeks back and sent me a photo of a Circle Butterfly Easel Card that she had made.  I got her permission to publish it on my blog but I've been in 'Fiji Time' for a while now and am just slowly starting to think about paper craft once again! It was so nice of Marie to email me this photo.  She took inspiration from one of the cards that I had made. You can click on the picture below to take you to the original post.
