Cute Critters is the theme for the latest challenge at SUO Challenges #145.   My sister asked me to make a special 3D card for a baby boy, so I decided to combine one of my favourite retired stamp sets, Fox and Friends with Zoo Babies to make this baby crib card. I just love owl stamps and this little guy from SU's Fox and Friends is still a firm favourite of mine.  I teamed him up with a couple of new 'toys' that I have been itching to play with - a Cloudy Sky embossing folder and a new Garden Gate die. There's a 'fantabulous' challenge at Just Add Ink this week to add a die cut to your paper craft project. I chose to use ... Petite Pocket Two Tags ... to make a matching gift card for another 'Lucky Owl' that I made from some paisley denim material. JAI 88 - Add a Die Cut (or two) Paisley Denim 'Lucky' Owl with Matching Petite Pocket The tag needed to be trimmed a bit so it could fit inside the pocket. I'm so glad I kept my Paisley Background Stamp as it was just right for adding some extra detail to the tag. I also pressed the little owl from Fox and Friends against the Paisley stamp (kissing technique) to make the pattern on the owl. The colours that I used for this project are Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy . The idea was inspired by a beautiful project that Sophie Zadeh demonstrated at Hobart Regionals using the Petite Pocket Die and a piece of denim from a much loved pair of jeans (see above). It's Friday and that means another fabulous challenge at Just Add Ink . This week we've got the baby theme happening. So it's time for everyone to whip up something cute, ie: bibs, bonnets, prams, rattles and baby onesies ... just to name a few. It's all thanks to Stampin' Up! and the introduction of their gorgeous fabric into the Australian Catalogue, that I have finally blown the dust off my sewing machine. Thanks to a fantastic SU Hostess Promotion that is on at the moment, my June holiday break started with a couple of fun filled workshops. The first design was inspired by a card on page 50 of the IB & C. I used Fox & Friends instead of Cheep Talk , as one of the hostesses wanted me to design a card for the make 'n' take using this set. The colour combo came from the Play Date DSP and lots of circle punches and one Itty Bitty Flower Punch were used in the making of this card! The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments. I also offered Forest Friends, Funky Four and Cheep Talk as alternative stamp sets to mix and match so that everybody's card ended up being very unique. Do you recognise this?
