Hi there.  It's been a bit quiet on my blog lately but that's all about to change as we head towards the last South Pacific Convention which will be held on the Gold Coast in sunny Queensland, in less than two weeks' time! Eeek!  It's coming around very fast.  I have been busy crafting over my holiday break in preparation for Convention and for a couple of Blog Hops that I will be participating in over the next few days. Today I spent time preparing for tomorrow night's class by making a couple of short boxes from the 'Cool Like That Giftable Templates' .  A few lovely ladies will be learning how to use MDS with an e-cutter and I can't wait to show them how easy it is to make little gift boxes like these. The theme at Just Add Ink is to make a shaker and ' Let's Go to the Beach' is the latest theme challenge at the Paper Players so I combined the two ideas and came up with this set - PP203 - "Let's Go to the Beach".   JAI 221 - Shaker Box   The windows on both boxes have been cut using the shell and starfish shapes from 'Anchors Away' Digital Kit .  The shaker box has two layers of clear acetate with lots of glitter, dazzling diamonds and gold sequins sandwiched inbetween and sealed with the new Fast Fuse Adhesive . It's time for another Stampin' Up! ® Only Challenge (SUO) and this week we're asking you to create a one-layer card .  The idea is to use just a single card base and embellishments are allowed. I actually made a set of tags.  They certainly have only one layer of card stock but there are many 'layers' of ink - I think the technical term is 'collage stamping'. SUO 89 - One-Layer Challenge These litttle beauties were made using a brand new product (only just released TODAY in Australia) called the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch .  You just cut your card stock 2" wide and it slides through the punch and cuts the scallop bit at the top.  This allows you to cut the tag to the length you need - brilliant! My one-layer tags were made using a variety of stamp sets (please refer to the 'Labels' below) and stamped with Metallic Gold, Crumb Cake, White StazOn, Basic Black, Always Artichoke, Soft Sky and Marina Mist inks onto Soft Sky Core'...

SUO 87 Beach Hues Colours of January is the theme for the latest challenge at SUO Challenges. When you think about the month of January, what colours spring to mind?  For me it's all about the Summer Holiday Break so I went in search of a beachy colour combo in my 'Colour' Board on Pinterest . I loved this colour combo from Design Seeds and matched it up with some SU Colours that I thought would suit the theme. Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, So Saffron, Crushed Curry There's a real mix of digital and traditional die cutting, stamping etc.used in the making of this card so I thought you might like to know how it all came together - Mini Tutorial 1.  Download the 'Anchors Away' Digital Kit from Stampin' Up! ® into MDS (My Digital Studio).  I chose the seahorse and clam shell 'stamps' and then exported these files into my Silhouette Studio .  2.  Once they are in your e-cutter 'program', conve...

Ok ... so this is a little 'out there' but it certainly does fit the challenge requirements at SUO 85 (in more ways than one) to make a non-traditional Christmas card or paper craft project. Non-traditional can mean non-Christmas stamps, colours or both. I went with pretty much non-traditional everything but sea shells are certainly more appropriate for our Aussie Christmas than sleighs and snowflakes!
