Phew!  These are the last examples (except a couple of DT stuff to go) in my 'Totally Tags' Series .  I hope you have enjoyed checking out some different ways that you can use the humble tag in a variety of paper craft projects. EMBOSSED FABRIC TAGS So how do you emboss fabric?  Simply by adhering it to some card stock and then running it through your Big Shot using an embossing folder. INSTRUCTIONS - 1.  Get some self adhesive paper and peel off the top layer of 'film'. 2.  Stick your piece of material onto the sticky side that you have just exposed. 3.  Peel off the back layer and adhere your card stock. 4.  Use a die cut to cut out a tag shape (or simply use a tag for the third step and fussy cut around the tag, as I did with the following example). 5.  Stamp your image onto the fabric (I used Black Staz-On). 6.  Put your tag inside an embossing folder of your choice and run it through your Big Shot machine. 7. ...

There's a 'fantabulous' challenge at Just Add Ink this week to add a die cut to your paper craft project. I chose to use ... Petite Pocket Two Tags ... to make a matching gift card for another 'Lucky Owl' that I made from some paisley denim material. JAI 88 - Add a Die Cut (or two) Paisley Denim 'Lucky' Owl with Matching Petite Pocket The tag needed to be trimmed a bit so it could fit inside the pocket. I'm so glad I kept my Paisley Background Stamp as it was just right for adding some extra detail to the tag. I also pressed the little owl from Fox and Friends against the Paisley stamp (kissing technique) to make the pattern on the owl. The colours that I used for this project are Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy . The idea was inspired by a beautiful project that Sophie Zadeh demonstrated at Hobart Regionals using the Petite Pocket Die and a piece of denim from a much loved pair of jeans (see above). Here's another card that I made which uses the technique that Vanessa Webb demonstrated at Convention in Melbourne - embossing fabric. I stamped onto the material (100% Cotton - Tea Dye from Spotlight) with Black Staz On and coloured in Ollie and Olivia (Stampendous) using Copics and a Bashful Blue Stampin' Write Marker . I had to experiment with a few different copics and markers as some 'bled' more than others on the material. With the help of some Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets , some Naturals Ivory Card Stock and the Top Note Die , I embossed the material using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and sponged around the edges with Soft Suede Ink and a sponge dauber . Other Bits 'n' Bobs - Baja Breeze Card Stock and DSP from the Subtles Pack, Corner Rounder Punch, Baja Breeze Ink for sponging, Victoria Crochet Trim, Antique Brad, To and From Tag stamp and Small Tag Punch. I have finally found a use for all this very bright blue silk fabric that hubby bought back from Cambodia 3 and a half years ago (This was his interpretation of 'baby blue raw silk fabric'). Well ... it was a tad difficult to communicate over the phone exactly what I had in mind with the noise of the 'Russian' Market in the background. Anyway, enough said on that topic. At Convention in Melbourne, Vanessa Webb demonstrated how to emboss fabric using the Big Shot Multi Purpose Adhesive Sheets. I was so excited about giving it a try but it has taken until now to get around to it (on holiday ;). I have used Naturals Ivory Card Stock and stamped the beautiful flourish from the gorgeous stamp set, Creative Elements (sneak peek), in Pacific Point , sponged around the edges and finished it off with an Antique Brad (my favourite).
