Post It Note Holder with Gel Pen

Image
Vintage Bird Post It Note Holder A Glimpse Inside This is the little post-it note holder that we made at Stamp Class last Friday night. Thanks to Rochelle for hosting such a fun evening. This was the second project out of three that we made. I'm hoping Rochelle will post details on her blog soon (hint, hint) so I can link you up to the directions on how to make this cute little gift. PS: Here's the link . Happy crafting. We made these using Old Olive Cardstock and the Vintage Vogue stamp set. I chose to decorate mine with the XL Two-Step Bird Punch using Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry with a bit of sponging. I love how it turned out. Thanks, Rochelle, for a fun, quick and easy project to do! Well, I'm home on my day off today busily doing housework, writing an Individual Education Program for a child in my class and catching up on some posts. You'll know when another post pops into view later on in the day, that I needed a break from the compilation of as...

Just Add Ink Challenge # 29 - Colour

Image
Scalloped Envy There's a colour challenge on at Just Add Ink and I decided to make a little scalloped pocket to hold a gift card inside! After all things masculine last week, I went with something very pretty and feminine for this round! The template that I used is a Freebie from Creations by AR , called Scalloped Envy . You can download the pattern HERE . My week has been super busy so I didn't get around to photographing it open with a gift card inside and besides, I didn't want to ruin that near perfect bow!! ;) Here's the yummy colour combo that is on offer this week at Just Add Ink. I hope it gets your creative juices flowing. Project Recipe for Scalloped Envy - Stamp Sets: Bella's Bloom, Tiny Tags Card Stock: Textured Rose Red and Very Vanilla Stampin' Write Markers: Rose Red and Always Artichoke Accessories: Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon, Lots of Tags Die, Bella Bleu DSP, Paper Piercing Tool, Rich Regals Brad Thanks f...

Ribbon Scraps

Image
Ribbon Scraps with Some Extra Detail Well, what a difference some faux stitching and buttons make, not to mention a better spot to photograph the cards!!! You'll see what I'm rambling on about when you read the original post below - Using up My Ribbon Scraps - 1 Inspiration for these cards came from K. Werner . This lady is so talented and I love browsing through her blog. She has heaps of inspirational videos and Kristina loves using Kraft (soon to be called Crumb Cake) cardstock so of course I love her stuff! I used two CB dies to cut the heart and butterfly, SU ribbon scraps, Kraft cardstock, Corner Rounder Punch and Sticky Strip. The ink is Chocolate Chip and I used the new L1 Hostess Set, Picture This for the first design and the sentiment from Butterfly Prints for the second. Using Up My Ribbon Scraps - 2 Thanks for taking a peek. I was a little scared to tackle the white faux stitching but on reflection, I think I'll give it a go! *************************...

A Card to Welcome Baby Elijah

Image
Welcome Baby Elijah Congratulations to Andrew and Sarah who welcomed baby Elijah into their family. Well, I said I'd be back with a card that actually uses more little animals other than the Owl from my Fox and Friends ' Stamp Set! I have to admit that it's the first time they have seen ink as the owl image completely took over and it was worth every cent to buy the set just to get my hands on that stamp! I have also used this week's sketch at Just Add Ink again (not my official submission). I had originally thought of doing the b a b y letters for the four squares and the cute little animals but decided to go with the Retro Fresh look using Cheep Talk instead ( See today's earlier post ). I just changed the sketch slightly to have the ribbon going down the side and an added sentiment wasn't necessary as the letters from my NEW TIMELESS TYPE Sizzlit Dies say it all! I love 'em! A Close Up of My New SU Timeless Type Sizzlit Die Cuts Thanks to the ladie...

Just Add Ink Challenge #27 - Sketch

Image
Retro Fresh Hi there! There's a sketch challenge on at Just Add Ink this week and not only do I consider sketch challenges to be my all-time favourite, but the sketch itself is awesome. I know I'll be using it again and again!!! I had so many ideas floating around in my head for this sketch that it was hard to make a choice. In the end I chose to highlight the 'Cheep Talk' stamp set as it is on special this month with the Two-Step Stamping Promotion . It has been reduced from $47.95 down to $38.36 . What a bargain and what a cute set! I must admit I had to blow the dust off it as I hadn't used Cheep Talk for ages and now that I've re-discovered its cute factor, I'll be bringing it out again real soon. Can you guess which pages of the Idea Book and Catalogue (2009-2010) that I used for inspiration? I purposefully made a Thank You Card to give to a dear friend who cooked our family a yummy meal last week and brought it round. She knew that I hadn...

A Card for Frankie

Image
Baby Onesie This card was made to celebrate the arrival of Frankie Analyn. Congratulations to Sarah and Sam on the arrival of their gorgeous baby daughter. I bought this Baby Onesie die about three weeks ago in a bargain bin! Gotta love bargains. A new little arrival was a good enough reason to give it a whirl through my Big Shot today and make a very quick and easy card for the proud parents of cute, little Frankie. As you can see, my favourite owl stamp features yet again!! I have now inked up a few more little creatures from Fox and Friends to make another card but you won't see that one until later tomorrow. Project Recipe for Baby Onesie - Stamp Sets: Fox and Friends, Short and Sweet, Best Yet (Hostess L1) Ink: Regal Rose Cardstock: Textured Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Regal Rose Accessories: Scallop Oval, Scallop Circle and 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Sweet Always DSP, Soft Subtle Brads Non- SU: Sizzix Baby Onesie Die Phew! Inkspirations Colour Challenge #32 with some Embossing for Just Add Ink #26

Image
Vintage Baroque I made this card for Keesh's colour challenge and it has been ages since I've joined in. The challenge at Just Add Ink #26 is to do some embossing so I've combined the two. This week is my 'off' week as a DT Member for JAI so I thought I'd play along for fun. It took my mind off just how lousy I'm feeling but I'm not looking forward to cleaning up my craft area!! I've been MIA due to a nasty 'lung infection' and our main computer needed fixing. This card was also made for a good friend of mine who is going through a tough time at the moment. I hope she likes it when it arrives in the mail. She loves embossing on cards!!! Hi, T. I used the emerging colour/emboss resist technique by stamping the flowers from 'Vintage Vogue' in So Saffron and Regal Rose, then stamping the Baroque Background stamp with Versa Mark and embossing with clear embossing powder. Lastly, I brayered Chocolate Chip ink over the top and buffe...

In Love with Owls

Image
If you haven't already figured it out, I love cards with owls on them. I've had a drool at the new catalogue from the U.S. and am hoping we get that gorgeous Two-Step Owl Punch but in the meantime I managed to spot this little Sizzix Owl Die at a craft shop last weekend. I had a few spare kits left over from my last stamp class so decided to use them up but just change the owl design in the middle in order to try out my new die! I think it's cute! All I can say is I am thankful for Photoshop as it is a very dull, rainy Sunday morning and I'm sitting here at my study desk amusing myself, waiting for the tiler to come and finish our bathroom tiles and trying to recover from this nasty bug that hasn't coughed itself away just yet! Hope all is well in your household!

Just Add Ink Challenge # 25

Image
Too Cute to Handle There's a colour challenge on this week at Just Add Ink . I found the colour combo a little tricky and then re-read my notebook to discover that it was one of my suggestions! Ooops! No-one to blame but myself! This week's Colour Combo The card evolved from me wanting to use the cute Rose Red coloured Designer Hardware from the 'Hooray' collection (Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue) as a starting point! The sentiment then led me to use the little tea cup stamp called, 'Share a Cup'. It's one of my favourite stamps and so versatile! ... and so the design 'blossomed' from there. The little flowers coming from the cup are attached to small lengths of florist wire. Project Recipe: Stamp Sets: One of a Kind, Share a Cup Ink: Rose Red, Soft Suede, Elegant Eggplant Cardstock: RR, SS, EE and Very Vanilla Accessories: 1/2" SS Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Sizzlits Little Leaves Die, 5-Petal Flower and Boho Blossoms Punches, ...

A Shabby Sweet Sunday

Image
Dream I made this card so I could send big hugs and congratulations to Lisi, who has recently opened her own shop, Miss Vintage , in Perth, Tasmania. I did a bit of embossing on the card so I could enter it in the latest challenge at the Shabby Tea Room (Let's Make an Impression) and I have used the sketch from this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #76 . Project Recipe Stampin' Up! Supplies: Frames with a Flourish Stamp Set, Parisian Breeze DSP, Baja Breeze Cardstock, Classic Black and Soft Suede Ink, Distressing Tool, Dimensionals, Hemp Twine, Sizzlits Lots of Tags Die, Stamping Sponge, Sanding Block Non SU Supplies: CB Embossing Folder, Nostalgia Core'dinating Card Stock, Flowers and Lace from my stash, Eiffel Tower Stamp from 'Hot off the Press' Inc. PS: Thanks to the Shabby Tea Room for giving me an Honourable Mention for this card! Much appreciated! Thanks for stopping by,

Just Add Ink Challenge # 24 - I'm Back!

Image
Vintage Leaves There's a sketch challenge on this week at Just Add Ink and boy did it give me 'grief' to begin with because of its simplicity. So this was my game plan - I really wanted to ink up the Medallion stamp again and get out the Little Leaves die and so it kind of went from there. I thought I'd combine my two favourite Stampin' Up! colours, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip ... you know the type of colours I'm referring to?? ... the ones that, "If you could only take two coloured ink pads to a deserted island, which ones would you take?" sort of colours! Then I wanted to use a technique I hadn't done for a while. There's some kissing, sponging and distressing involved and as I told the girls at JAI, that sounds like one very bad romance novel! In the end I was pretty relieved my mojo had decided to return after a month's break and I finally felt like I was back into the 'swing of things'. This Week's Sketch at Just Add ...

Two More Projects for Friday's Big Shot Class

Image
Scallop Envelope Box No... you don't have to be a Big Shot to attend Friday night's stamp club but you get to create these examples with the Big Shot embossing and die cutting machine - my favourite toy! The above example uses the Scallop Envelope Die (X4). It's simply a matter of sticking the side flaps together to form a box, add a cute little birdie on a branch made from the Two-Step Bird Punch and that's about all there is to it. I used the sturdy Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP for the box and Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon to tie up the cellophane bag. Friends This card is a combination of two designs which I received as SWAPS at the National Convention in Sydney. I drew inspiration from Peggy Quarmby and Melinda Taylor . Thanks, ladies. Project Recipe: Stamps: Vintage Vogue Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla Ink: Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede Accessories: Bella Rose DSP, Top Note Die, Dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds, Two-Way Glue Pen Until ne...

A CASE with Three Different Colour Combos

Image
Stampin' Up! often add some great ideas to the Demonstrators' Personal Web Sites. I've CASED just one of their fantastic samples. You'll find the Project Recipe and the original card featured HERE. I made some minor changes by substituting the featured DSP with a Tangerine Tango coloured DSP from the Haiku Collection and a sentiment from Tiny Tags instead of Teeny Tiny Sentiments. This is one of the cards the ladies will be making this Friday night at my dINKy chicks' stamp club. The next one I made using the colours from the latest Colour Challenge at Just Add Ink . It was one of my colour combo suggestions and Amanda and Danielle decided to run with it for this week's challenge. I have had a break from the Design Team due to holidays and the busyness of life but I will be back on Friday 2nd July with a new submission! Can't wait to get back into the swing of things with some extra DT Members alongside too! Awesome! Why don't you pop on over to ...
