Mother's Day Blog Hop for CASEing the Catty

Image
It's good to be back in the blog hop at CASEing the Catty this week!  It's been awhile since I've joined in and I'm really pleased that I had a bit of time to craft this week and to share the card that I have made for my mum for Mother's Day.  It's a Teacup Easel Card with an 'orchid'. Inspiration came from page 34 of the Occasion's Catalogue -    CTC 75 and #tgifc52 - Mother's Day This card is constructed in a similar way to the one I designed in 2012.  You can view the detailed tutorial HERE and then follow the mini photo tutorial below to see how I adapted it for Stampin' Up! products and accessories only. This SU Bundle is on the retiring list so get in quick before it's sells out!   A Nice Cuppa - Photopolymer Bundle ($67.00 AUD) I'm also linking up my card to TGIF Challenges as their theme is Mother's Day - #tgifc52    Tea Cup Easel Card Mini Photo Tutorial by...

An Oriental Themed Card in a Box for My Sister's Birthday

Image
Hi there.  Welcome to my blog.  Today I'm entering a challenge over at Seize the Birthday . They always have an 'anything goes' challenge for birthdays in general or you can choose to go along with a 'topping' , which this week is to use the colours, red and white . I've spent a few sessions over the last 3 days putting this card together for my sister's birthday which is on January 1st.  I always think it's pretty cool that every year the whole world waits up for her birthday to happen! My sister's town house has an oriental theme and all her decor is in red, white, black and silver.  She doesn't understand why I spend so long making cards as they only get 'thrown away' (gasp!) and she always tells me I should put my energy into making home decor pieces or practical items that last.  Well, I have made sure this one won't end up in the bin (I hope) as I have made a card/home decor piece/gift card holder all in one! Stampin...
