CASE-ing the Catty Challenge #18 - Occasions Birthday

Image
Hi there.  Welcome to add INK tive designs and another challenge at CASE-ing the Catty .  This week we are looking at the Birthday section of the Occasions Catalogue for inspiration.   It's pretty obvious that I have CASED the project featured on the bottom right hand corner of page 10.  The Birthday Bash Designer Washi Sheets, Celebrate Today Stamps and Balloon Framelit Dies were still sitting on my desk from the last crafting session, so this was a quick and easy choice for me, especially because I have 'hit the ground running' since going back to work. CTC #18       I love the versatility of the washi sheets used with dies as they 'jazz up' mason jars, milk bottles, acetate etc. There are so many possibilities. Why don't you join us at CTC this week?  There's so much inspiration in the Birthday section.  We are also on the lookout for Guest Designers!  Thanks for stopping by, ...

Vintage Vans - Card and Gift Box

Image
My brother turned 50 today and we celebrated his 'milestone' birthday at the Fifties Diner  in Deloraine.  His hobby is restoring wooden vintage caravans so when I spotted these cutting files in the Silhouette Store , I just had to make a set for his birthday. Happy Birthday, Andrew!   The Card        I made a little gift card holder for inside the card.   The Gift Box       The colour scheme is Marina Mist, Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White.  I used some Polka Dot DSP and ribbon from my retired stash and filled the little gift box with Jelly Bellies, Starburst Berries and Cola lollies.  A while back I bought him an early birthday pressie (a book on vintage caravans) which inspired this card -    http://addinktivedesigns.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/scalloped-tag-easel-card-with-punch-art.html   Thanks for visiting.  I've shown you the b...

CASE-ing the Catty Challenge #3 - Birthday

Image
It's week 3 at CASE-ing the Catty Challenges  and we're up to the Birthday Section of the Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue.  The idea at CTC this week is to browse through pages 42 - 59 and find a project that you would like to re-create.   You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations. The inspiration for my card is from page 56 (Happiest Birthday Card).  I used the sketch and most of the colour palette but substituted Apothecary Art with one of my new stamp sets, 'Choose Happiness'. The flower image was stamped on Island Indigo card stock and scrunched several times to loosen the fibres. I love the vintage look it creates.    It's fun looking through the pages of the catty for inspiration, discovering something new each time and thinking of ways to put my own 'twist' on the projects. I hope ...

It's a Masquerade

Image
Hi.  Today I have my very first card in a box to share with you.  It was made for my son to give to his girlfriend for her 21st birthday.  She had a Masquerade Themed Party!    Masquerade Card in a Box   The card in a box and mask shapes are all Silhouette cutting files made from the beautiful Modern Medley DSP and SU card stock . I would have loved to have added some stamped party balloons etc to the layers in the box but my son's instructions were "not to make it too tizzy", so I had to comply :)  I know the birthday girl loved her special card. The following photo shows the card and box set that we gave Toni for her birthday.  It was based on this card that I made almost a month ago. This time the leaves were e-cut using a digital punch from the very cute Warm Weather Woodcuts Digital Download (MDS) - Here's a few snap shots of the birthday girl and some of our family all dressed up in Venetian Masks -  Toni ...

Sweet Buttons and Sorbet with Pop 'n' Cuts

Image
My son asked me to make a card for him to give to his girlfriend's mum for her 50th Birthday!  So ... I guess it needed to be pretty special.  She loves to sew dresses for her daughter so the Dress Form Pop 'n' Cuts was an obvious 'springboard' for the rest of the design. Some Sweet Sorbet DSP (SAB - free with every $90 purchase) helped me to decide on the colour combo and the long forgotten Sweet Buttons Embosslits was a 'must' to add to the dress making theme. I blew dust off the retired set, Sew Suite , so I could stamp that cute little sewing machine image on the envelope to complete the project.  Inside View Outside View I just love how easy it was for a variety of Stampin' Up! ® products to come together to make this card.  My favourite little 'added extra' is the Needlepoint Border embossing down the sides of the card front. I'm pretty sure Gina will appreciate it and Ryan will continue to remain in her...

Happy Birthday Anne Marie

Image
The beautiful Anne Marie Hile is celebrating her birthday and I have joined in with the 'Linky' party to wish her the happiest of days! I got to know Anne Marie when I was on the very first Design Team for Dynamic Duos and these days we keep in touch through Facebook.  I heard she likes all things, 'pink and girly' so I have made her one of my Butterfly Easel Cards to wish her a very happy birthday.   Hip, hip hooray!      This card has been electronically cut using my Silhouette Cameo, then stamped, embossed and sanded for the finished look.

Tracy's 50th Birthday Card - Four Challenges in One!

Image
There have been quite a few challenges that I have wanted to participate in lately but sadly, there's never enough time to do all the ones I'd like to.  However, it's my birthday today so I decided that I would spend a couple of hours in my craft room and make a card for a very dear friend of mine who's turning 50 this week! I managed to combine 4 challenges in one - a very rare thing for me to do and not one owl, butterfly or e-Cutting machine was used in the process (If you follow my blog you will understand the joke). A Card for Tracy Challenge #1 - Colour My Choice - Perfect Plum with Gold Challenge # 2 - Sketch Challenge #3 - Ribbons and Bows Whisper White Organza Ribbon Challenge #4 - Create Something Using Framelits Framelits - Ovals Collection and Bitty Banners Project Recipe: Stamps:   Itty Bitty Banners Card Stock:  Whisper White, Brushed Gold, Perfect Plum Ink:  Perfect Plum Accessories: ...
