Collage Stamping for CCMC #382 Colour Challenge

Hi there and welcome to addINKtive designs.  Over the weekend I made a few acceptance cards and this is my favourite one of the three. The gorgeous colour palette at Create with Connie and Mary provided me with a great starting point.

The arty process involved some heat embossing with white embossing powder, some masking, watercolouring a background with aquapainters, some collage stamping then adding the embellishments. It's not my usual style but I had a lot of fun putting this one together.

Thanks for taking a peek,

Colour Me ... Subtle

Welcome to addINKtive designs. I'm sharing another 'acceptance' card that I made today and decided to use the colour combo from Colour Me - Soft Suede, Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler.

They are gorgeous colours for 'Fall' but it just so happens that we are nearing the end of Spring down under, so I inked up my Swallowtail stamp and did some emboss resist using the Dots Decorative Mask.

Dotty Emboss Resist for CMCC #98
Instructions -
1.  Stamp Swallowtail with Versa Mark Ink onto Shimmery White Card
2.  Heat Emboss with White Embossing Powder.
3.  Place Dots Decorative Mask over the image and use Sponge Daubers to apply the three different coloured inks.
4.  Use an Aquapainter and watercolour the rest of the butterfly image using Crushed Curry Ink.
5.  Add a sentiment using the Alphabet Rotary Stamp and secure the Blossom Accent with a Glue Dot.

Summer Silhouettes

Hi there.  Here's a very clean and simple card; it's stamped in neutral colours on Kraft card stock using the beautiful stamps from Summer Silhouettes.
The sentiment is stamped using the Alphabet Rotary Stamp as I didn't have any 'acceptance' stamps - such a handy tool.
Inks - Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate

Tip Toe through the Tulips - Small Flowerpot Easel Card

Welcome to addINKtive designs.  I recently entered a watercolouring challenge at Just Us Girls and made a Small Flowerpot Easel Card for my mum's upcoming birthday.  The card was inspired by a recent trip we had to the Tulip Farm at Table Cape.  There were so many photos that I wanted to share on my blog that I decided to write another post.

This easel card is made with SU's Envelope Liners Framelits smallest die and the beautiful tulips stamp is from a retired set called, Blessed Easter.
I really appreciate the many crafters all over the globe that purchase my tutorials; the sales help to keep me in SU supplies so I can continue to create and share my ideas with you. My day job keeps me very busy and I have limited time available to hold classes or workshops. So ... thank you!

My mum enjoying the tulips at Table Cape, near Wynyard in Tasmania.

Another place ticked off my bucket list!

I love Spring in Tasmania.  It sure is a beautiful part of the world.

Just Us Girls - Watercolouring Challenge

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and it's all about using watercolouring on your card or project.  What perfect timing!  I recently purchased a retired stamp set called, Blessed Easter and it only just arrived in the mail on Friday.  The tulips are perfect for watercolouring so I chose a variety of inks and used an Aqua Painter to colour the flowers.

 A Birthday Card for Mum

The tulips were stamped five times onto Shimmery White Card Stock and each set was painted a different colour -
  • Delightful Dijon and Daffodil Delight
  • Melon Mambo
  • Real Red and Daffodil Delight
  • Cherry Cobbler
  • Wisteria Wonder
  • Leaves - Garden Green

Inspiration came from a recent trip to the Tulip Farm at Table Cape.

Project Recipe:
Stamp Sets:  Blessed Easter, Butterfly Basics, Gift From the Garden, Papillon Potpourri
Ink:  As above and Smoky Slate (sponged around edges of flower pot)
Card Stock:  Shimmery White, Garden Green
Accessories:   Envelope Liners Framelits, Circles Collection Framelits, Tea Lace Paper Doily, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Scissor Snips, Aqua Painter, Stampin' Dimensionals, Basic Pearls, Sponge Dauber, Boho Chic Embossing Folder, Project Life Corner Rounder Punch, C6 Whisper White Envelope

CASEing Steffi from Stempelwiese

Hi there.  Yesterday I enjoyed some time in my craft room and was loving the idea of not having to think too hard about what I wanted to create; I decided that in order to get my mojo back, I would CASE (copy and share everything) a beautiful card that I spotted over at The Global Design Project. It's a real stunner designed by Steffi Helmschrott from Stempelwiese.

It's rare that I completely CASE a card right down to the layout and colour scheme but Steffi's card was sheer perfection in my book. Not only did I end up with a very pretty card, my mojo did return and for that I am extremely grateful.  I now have a list of supplies I need for another SU order, my Swallowtail stamp got inked up for the second time, I decided that I really do enjoy heat embossing and watercolouring the background and have now declared Shimmer White as my favourite card stock of all time!  It also did take my mind off the fact that I was missing being in Melbourne for On Stage with my stamping buddies (sniff).

There's a few subtle changes that I made because I didn't have all the same supplies as Steffi and I also decided to emboss the vellum punched flowers and use Shimmer White Card Stock instead of watercolour paper.  Thanks, Steffi for your inspiration; I think I might need to make some more in different colours!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Be sure to come back in a few hours (7 pm AEST) to see my second Christmas Colour Combo for The Colour Tree.

Butterfly Sympathy and a Card for a Friend

Hi there.  It's been a while since I have had the opportunity to make some cards as life has been a little hectic lately.  I needed a sympathy card for a friend of mine who recently lost her mum and decided to CASE a design that I discovered through Pinterest.

You can view Brandy's Cards Tutorial on You Tube - Butterfly Basics, 10 cards in 20 minutes.

I love Brandy's design but made a few subtle changes and chose one of my Colour Tree colour combinations.

The next card is a CASE of the above using a different stamp set, Awesomely Artistic and another one of my Colour Tree colour palettes.
