Brisbane Swaps

Image
Just popping in to let you know that I have a handful of swaps for the Brisbane SU Convention.  My lovely up-line, Sharnee , (photo below) has kindly allowed me to send some along with her.  They're nothing flash but just a few e-cut cards like the samples in the above picture, as I don't have much spare time these days to be 'fussy'. I'm also open to swap via snail mail, after Convention, if you don't get a chance to find Sharnee amongst the 700+ people attending this year.  Oh I wish I could be there to join in the fun ... but am really looking forward to attending our son's graduation ceremony instead! Hopefully, I'll catch up with a few of you in Melbourne later on in the year! Have a blast!!

I went back to Uni today ... for a card making class.  My lovely friend, Jo, runs a craft group for Uni students and this time around they chose to do some paper craft. The theme was fun shaped cards.  Here's the Selection that I Demonstrated - 1. Butterfly Easel Card      2.  Owl Card      3.  Coffee Cup Card     Some of the Finished Projects -   It was a fun afternoon! All three card tutorials are available for purchase.  See HERE for more details. Why don't you visit my on-line store for all your Stampin' Up! ® supplies. Thanks for stopping by,

Fun Shaped Cards Using SU's Digital Punches and Stamps

Image
Here's a fun shaped card made from the Cupcake Punch Digital Download - I really enjoy importing SU's digital punches, from MDS, into my Silhouette Studio and creating cutting files to make various shaped cards.  The cupcake base on the inside of the card, makes a pocket to hold a tag or a gift card. Project Recipe: Cupcake Punch Digital Download, Crumb Cake and Real Red Card Stock, More Amour Specialty and Comfort Café DSP, Pool Party Seam Binding ....................................................................................................... Did you know that you can also have fun doing the same sort of thing with SU's svg brush stamp sets? MDS comes with the set, On the Go and it has some really cute images. I imported the car 'stamp' and created a cutting file to make this card.  It doesn't have any embellishments yet as I was eager to share it with you....

Happy Mother's Day

Image
My Kinder/Prep class did some marbling using shaving foam and re-inkers.  This was the first step in a long process to  make a very special card for their mums for Mother's Day. Step 1:  Get an adult to squirt a heap of shaving foam onto a plastic plate. Step 2:  Add a few drops of different coloured re-inkers.      Step 3:  Swirl the inks together but be careful not to over mix the colours. Step 4:  Press your paper into the swirled, inky mixture and lift off. Step 5:  Leave for a couple of minutes to allow the ink pattern to soak in and then with swirly motions, wipe off the excess shaving cream.     Step 6:  Wait for your marbled paper to dry before cutting out the dress shapes with the dies. Step 7:  Cut out the card bases using a Big Shot Machine to make your pop-up card.       Step 8:  Attach your 'marbled dresses...
