Yay!  I actually made a card today.  Due to the busyness of work, I hadn't ventured into my craft room for two months!  I am very thankful for the Easter break because I finally had a chance to start tidying up my very messy craft room and 'christen' a new Kaisercraft Die called Gumnuts .   This card has a split front panel and incorporates the colours from the latest challenge at The Colour Tree .  The leaves and gum nuts were sponged with Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede Ink to add more depth.  The Lost Lagoon DSP panel is from a retired SU DSP stack.  Kaisercraft Gumnuts - DD 359    March has been a bit of a quiet month at TCT but hopefully this earthy colour palette and some extra crafting time will inspire you to join in with this week's colour challenge. Here's a very quick and easy way to make a tag holder. 1.  Score your piece of 12x12 patterned paper at 3" intervals (vertically) so you create 4 sections. 2.  Score along the horizontal edge at 4" and fold upwards. 3.  Run double sided adhesive tape along each edge of every section to form the 4 pockets. 4.  Place your tags inside. I used a piece of patterned paper from Kaiser Craft called 'Cosy Cottage' and the beautiful butterfly die from Marianne Creatables for the front of the holder. Here's a couple of cards that I shared at my recent 'Totally Tags' Demo.       For this card, I heat embossed the beautiful corner stamp from Utopia Collection with  white embossing powder, attached it to my dry embossed background, only at the corner edges with double sided tape. I then slid the matching tag inside the pocket that I had created.   This second card has a tag on the inside and is made with the Martha Stewart Double Edge Doily Lace Punch and the Kaiser Craft Collection of Hey Birdie Patterned Papers.

I re-visited the double pocket card fold but modified it slightly to suit our Australian Metric Measurements as well as wandering slightly from the original design to create a couple of extra ideas you might like to try. I'm chilling out tonight after a 5 hour demo at a local craft shop today.  It was all about tags and you will see quite a few posts over the next few days with some more examples.  Here's just a small snippet of a couple of Father's Day tags that I made.                                             I discovered quite by accident that if you pushed the loop end of the doubled ribbon through the back of the tag, you can make a tie.  You need to cut the ribbon a little over two lengths of the tag.   Both tags feature sentiments from the Flourishes Stamp Set called, A Guiding Light.                                                                       Some kit...

I'm currently on Mid-Term Break and busily preparing for a demonstration at a local craft shop.  It's all about Tags! Here's a little Chocolate Tag that I will be demonstrating.  I've seen so many gorgeous chocolate cards made using the punched squares that I thought I'd use the idea for a tag. It's the fifth challenge of the month at Dynamic Duos and that means a little diversion from the usual colour mix.  Lesley has chosen Crumb Cake as the challenge colour but the exciting thing is that you get to team it up with a colour of your choice. For my daughter's birthday, which was way back in May, I made a card using Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze because Laura's favourite colour is 'rust'. Laura's Birthday Card for DD #9 - Mix and Match I used one of my cute stamp sets from Technique Tuesday called, 'Life is Good' and made an easel card from SU's Framelit Dies. I really love the 'linen' look that is created when you stamp on textured card stock.  The gorgeous leafy flourish is cut from a Cheery Lynn Die called Mini Fanciful Flourish . The Colour Duo To complete the inside of the card, I used the negative of the die and sponged with Crumb Cake to make a patterned stencil of the leaves.  ...

  It's been way too long since I entered a challenge at the Shabby Tea Room .  Here's a sneak peek at the card I made today using the following photo for inspiration -   The theme is Sweet Summertime using the beautiful photo for inspiration and the colours TEAL or AQUA, PINK and BROWN. You can see why I couldn't resist as I have been enjoying making some tea cup easel cards lately.  However, this one is a little different as I have used the largest Nested Tea Cup Die and some gorgeous Origami Paper, Kaiser Craft Flowers and a little 'chocolate'.  Sweet Summertime Inspiration ...  ... at The Shabby Tea Room ... ... using aqua, pink and brown .
