Eeeeek! I'm so Excited! I made a Butterfly Easel Card using MDS and an E-Cutter

Image
A HUGE, momentous occasion today because I finally created a butterfly easel card using Stampin' Up! Digital Punches from My Digital Studio (MDS) which I cut out using an E-cutter.  Not only can I now make my butterfly easel cards a lot larger but I can also watch them being cut out!  That's fantastic news, especially if I want to make lots of them.  Yippee! Well, I'm excited anyway :) Seeing I can't get to Brisbane for Convention this year, I might have to do a 'swap by mail'  or send some along with my up-line, Sharnee , if anyone is interested (Colour and embossing may vary). Doing a little happy dance right now and haven't been able to contain my immense pleasure at watching my E-cutter do most of the hard work. A huge big thanks to Kimberley and Heather who ran a 10 day digital course.  I was hanging out for the tutorials on using MDS and my Silhouette Cameo.  I had to upgrade my Silhouette program to the 'Designer Edition' so it c...

JAI 162 and SUO 69 - Shaving Cream Technique and Anything Sizzix

Image
Hi!  Welcome back to the pre-MDS 'me'.  It's been over 2 months since I've entered a challenge and  also made a card with real ink and stamps!  I'm on holidays and had a whole afternoon today to get 'inky'. Yay! The girls at Just Add Ink inspired me to call into the supermarket on my way home from work on Friday, to purchase a can of shaving cream/foam.  I've really wanted to try out the marbling technique using re-inkers and the fore mentioned 'product' for absolutely ages.  The JAI Challenge Blog have a great challenge to, 'Just Add a Technique You've Never Tried Before!'   So I did. The majority of my cards involve using the Big Shot so I've 'double dipped' and entered my cards in the SUO Challenge to use 'Anything Sizzix'. I had fun and messed up my craft desk again! #1   JAI - Shaving Foam Marbling Technique (NQN and Old Olive) SUO - Anything Sizzix - Little Leaves Sizzlits, Ovals Collect...

Making Owl Cards with MDS and the Digital Owl Punch

Image
These cards were digitally designed using the MDS download, the Digital Two-Step Owl and Two-Step Bird Punches ('wings' for the moustache).   Mrs Owl Card   You can purchase the digital Owl Punch (download available here for $1.50 AUD) as well as the DSP (Designer Series 'Paper'), Springtime Vintage from here for $5.50 (AUD). To complete the Mrs Owl Card , I just added a rhinestone to the heart. After designing the owl card using MDS, I saved it as a JPEG file and added my watermark to the back before printing them out (see below). Mr. Owl Card The DSP for the Mr Owl Card and the Digital Two-Step Bird Punch (used for the moustache), comes with the MDS software.    Please note that these cards were cut out with Paper Snips.  If you would like to know how to use SU's digital punches with an e-Cutter, please refer to this post - http://addinktivedesigns.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/how-to-make-owl-card-usng-mds-and-e.html  ...

MDS Bird Card using the Digital Two-Step Bird Punch plus FREE Playful Polka Dots Download

Image
Making shaped cards using MDS (SU's My Digital Studio) is a heap of fun and so easy!  The digital Two-Step Bird Punch and the set of 'Antique Brads' are included in the MDS download!  All the elements on this card are flat but that digital Antique Brad looks so real!  If you're not into 'stamps and ink' but you would love to make digital cards by just using your computer, a printer and some card stock, then MDS is certainly for you!   It really is VERY simple as the software program is so easy to use. However, let me know if a tutorial on using digital punches for making cards would be useful and I will endeavour to share it with my blog readers. I did purchase the digital DSP (Designer Series 'Paper'), Springtime Vintage and you can download it here for $5.50 (AUD). Digital Design - Trendy Creations, Hexagons are HOT!

Image
A few days ago I joined the MDS class, Digital Design with Kimberly and Heather and I was able to finally check out all the video tutorials today as I'm on holidays at last!  Wooo hoo!  Wow! have I learnt a whole heap of new stuff.  I can't wait to get to the bit on E-cutters. My layout was inspired by Day 5's tutorial on 'Trends', namely hexagons! Day 5 Inspiration - Trends   #khdesigns01 I usually make cards but I think digital scrapbooking might become my second favourite hobby. MDS - Flock Together

Image
I apologise ...  as I have another card using MDS to show you.  I'll go back to 'real' stamps and ink very soon because in my humble opinion there's nothing that can replace 'inky fingers' and a messy craft desk :) Here's a card in the shape of a bird cage.  I downloaded the Flock Together Brush Stamp Set and had a play at making another shaped card.  MDS - Flock Together (Colours - Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black)  All I added after printing and cutting out the design was s single rhinestone at the top of the card.  I tried using black ribbon but it didn't quite look right.  Maybe for a tag? If you want to know how to make a shaped card using, My Digital Studio , I have written a tutorial in my previous post. MDS Baby Onesie Tutorial

Image
Today I want to share a very simple tutorial on how to make a Baby Onesie Shaped Card using Stampin' Up's ®, My Digital Software .     1. Create a new project from the file menu.  Choose 'CUSTOM' - 8 1/2" X 11" portrait. 2.  Add a STAMP, Designer Kits - Celebrate Any Day - Onesie (Comes with MDS) 3.  It's a very small stamp but doesn't 'blur' when enlarged. 4.  Enlarge the image so it fits into almost half of the lower part of your page. 5.  Change the colour (Blushing Bride used in this example).   6.  Right click on the image to copy and paste. 7.  Move the second image to above the original one. 8.  Flip the top image. 9.  Move the images together so the tops of the onesies are joined.   10.  Add an EMBELLISHMENT - Designer Kits - Nursery Nest - Baby (Comes with MDS) 11.  Click 'SHARE' and save it as a JPEG file on yo...
