DD # 14 - Lil Monster Valentine It's a Bold and Sassy colour combo this week at Dynamic Duos .   I must admit that orange and green are on 'my list of least favourite colours' but I was surprised at how awesome the combo turned out to be and just how much I enjoyed making this card. This Week's Colour Duo It must have something to do with that little monster image.  Isn't he adorable?  This is the first time I have inked up my Lil Monster Valentine .  In my opinion he gets an Olympic Gold Medal for ' cuteness'. I decided to do a bit of water colouring with my SU Markers and Aqua Painters .  I found it was a relaxing way to pass the time while babysitting for friends a couple of weeks ago. Just Believe This is the third card that I made today! I was on a roll thanks to some great inspiration from Karen Giron and her 87th Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge . This weekend was the first chance I had to really get stuck into using some of my new goodies since the release of the new Australian SU Idea Book and Catalogue a month ago! Life has been too busy and I hope that I'll be able to find a better 'balance' in the coming weeks. This card is for a friend's birthday - she loves the colour green! Although you can't see the bow very well, I do need to point out that I used Paula's Tutorial on bow tying and it is one of the best I've seen. You have to check it out! It's so quick and easy to do. Dream I made this card so I could send big hugs and congratulations to Lisi, who has recently opened her own shop, Miss Vintage , in Perth, Tasmania. The Sketch comes from the lovely and talented, Karen Giron and the Colour Combo is from Stampin ' Up's ! Colour Coach. Sunday Coffee It's been a while since I've entered a Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (8 weeks to be precise). I don't have a lot of time these days to join in the fun but managed to slip this one in! Our latest SU Demonstrator's Magazine, 'Impressions', had a great card sample using Sip by Sip and inspiration from the 'Pop Art' Movement. I'm dying to CASE that one sometime soon. In the meantime I thought I'd ink up this versatile set as I hadn't used it for a while. Welcome Mariella Congratulations to Dave and Suzie who welcomed Mariella Zoe Jane Knox Klauber into the world! Phew, the name is nearly as long as it took me to create this card! When I need to make a card, it's great to look at the sketch challenges on-line. It really helps when you've got a layout to follow. I thought Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge was just right for what I had in mind. I was wanting to use a Sweet Treat Cup to make a baby rattle and I filled it with Silver Cachous from my pantry and SU Light Pink Chunky Sprinkles (on special in the Inventory Clearance Sale). Bird in Bella Bleu This is one of the challenges that I really wanted to make time for this week as I haven't entered a Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for a while. The idea for this one has been rattling around in my head for the last 2 days so I got up early this morning and finally put it all on paper! The DSP I used is from Stampin' Up and it's called, 'Bella Bleu'. It's one of my favourites. I chose it because I wanted to make a ruffled flower for the embellishment in the top left hand corner. I got the idea of putting a Build-a-Brad in the centre from the latest Australian Cardmaking Stamping & Papercraft Magazine. The flowers have been punched out using all of the SU Circle Punches, scrunched, distressed and then sponged with Not Quite Navy Ink. I have used Kraft cardstock and NQN textured cardstock to match the DSP.
