A Card for a Cause

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month the challenge at SSC was to to use a pink ribbon and primarily the colour pink for your card/project. Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #62 If you've checked out my blog lately you will have noticed that I set myself a ' challenge ' to make some scallop easel cards with the Dynamic Duo combinations from the SU Colour Coach. I was making the In Colour samples and when I got to the Blushing Bride and Regal Rose combination this week, I decided to add the Pink Ribbon from the Cancer Council Fundraiser to this card and enter it in the latest challenge at SSC. If you'd like to know how to make one of these, please check out my tutorial. Thanks for stopping by,

Scallop Circle Easel Card Tutorial

Punch Potpourri Scallop Circle Easel Card in the Dynamic Duo of Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink 1. Score a piece of card stock through the middle (which is double the length of your die) and line up the folded piece over the Scallop Circle Die (SCD) leaving 4 scallops at the top to form the base of your card. This is how it should look after you run it through the Big Shot Machine . 2. Score a line through the middle of the top Scallop Circle and fold upwards. 3. Apply Sticky Strip or glue to half the Scallop Circle as shown above. 4. Cut out a single Scallop Circle in the same colour (Melon Mambo) and stick it to the folded half so the top layer sits up like an easel (The top half that is facing will now be a double layer and the bottom half, a single layer of card stock). 5. Cut two circles using the lighter shade (Pretty In Pink) and attach one to the base of the card. Sponge around the edges with the darker shade of ink before gluing the other circle to the front of the c...

Just Add Blue for 'Beyond Blue'

Image
Blue Potpourri Last week it was PINK ... this week it's all about BLUE! The current challenge at Just Add Ink is to help promote the wonderful job that Beyond Blue (the National Depression Initiative) is doing. So ... this challenge means that you can add BLUE to your papercraft project and then send it off to someone that could use a little 'pick me up'. I chose to do a Scallop Circle Easel Card and since Marina Mist is the newest blue colour from Stampin' Up! I decided to team it with its 'Dynamic Duo' of Bashful Blue . I am preparing heaps of cards in the different 'Dynamic Duos' which you will see in some future posts! A Scallop Easel Card is fun and very easy to make. I have written a TUTORIAL so you can have a go at making one too! The All-Important Side View! Be sure to visit the other Just Add Ink Team Blogs to see what gorgeous 'Blue' Creations they have for your inspiration this week. Project Recipe for Blue Potpourri Stam...

Colour Renovation

The new Colour Collections A Fond Farewell I have been a 'bad' blogger lately (so busy with SWAPS) that I hadn't got around to posting news (now old) about the Colour Renovation that will occur when the new Ideas Book and Catalogue is released in September! Before I get onto that I just wanted to say a big thank-you to my friend, Janice, who came around last night and helped me with my SWAPS!! It was so ... appreciated as the whole process can be a tad time consuming!!! Thanks for gluing, sponging, stamping tags etc. You are an angel (mmmm... most of the time). I better not go there as the old saying is true, "You'll always be my friend because you know too much". Anyway, the new colour collections (no longer known as colour families) look absolutely fantastic. I'm excited to see some old in-colours back and 5 new colours that will be added to the mix to make up the new CORE colours. There will still be 5 in-colours introduced this September that wil...
