By the Seashore and By the Tide

Image
I'm a little sad as it is our last day of Summer :(  We've had some scorching temperatures over the last week but I definitely felt a hint of Autumn in the air today. To mark the end of our Aussie Summer and to wish the warm weather along for those in the Northern Hemisphere, we have two 'beach' stamp sets that we are featuring at still addINKtive for our Spot that Stamp Set Challenge. Hop on over to the challenge blog to check out the guidelines.  Your project does not have to be new so if you have made a card or a scrapbook layout etc. using either By the Seashore or By the Tide , go and link it up.  We'd love to see what you have created.   By the Seashore By the Tide   I'm also a bit sad because if you haven't already noticed, I haven't been able to play along with the challenges at still addINKtive lately, mainly because work is consuming most of my spare time.  Don't get me wrong, I love my job as a Kindy/Prep...

http://stilladdinktive.blogspot.com Just popping in with a quick post to remind you about our latest Sketch and Colour Challenge over at still addINKtive. Remember you can choose to use the sketch or the colour combo as inspiration or combine the two for a fun and easy challenge. Happy Stamping!

CASology - Red Million-Dollar Moments

Image
Week 31 - Red No. 2 Melissa and the team at CASology have a great challenge this week - Hearts, Flowers, Love, Chocolate... with the cue word, RED.   I was itching to ink up my new Hostess Stamp, Million Dollar Moments, so I made another quick CAS card for the challenge. After looking at the photo I must remember to re-ink my Real Red Ink Pad!  It's had a lot of 'love'.  I added a few rhinestones to the card and made the border from the new Delicate Details Lace Tape on RR card stock. After my crazy weekend, it's a wonder I got any crafting done.  Thank goodness for clean and simple challenge sites like CASology !  Thanks for stopping by,

CASology - Red

Image
Week 31:  Red Melissa and the team at CASology have a great challenge this week - Hearts, Flowers, Love, Chocolate... with the cue word, RED. My card today is very CAS.  I used an owl die cut and substituted his nose with a red heart.  The sentiment is from a retired SU set called, Owl Together Now. I actually made a couple of cards yesterday for the CASology Challenge but was interrupted by a quick trip to the doctor and then Pathology for a blood test (suspected appendicitis). I am pleased to report that I don't have appendicitis and they also ruled out a couple of other nasties so I'm about to go out again for a second visit to my local GP and I'll be back to post the other card when I get back :) Thanks for stopping by,

Penny Farthing Calendar for Spot the SAB Stamp Sets

Image
Penny Farthing Calendar This week at Still AddINKtive Challenges we are featuring the second round of  SALE-A-BRATION Stamp Sets - Madison Avenue, Feeling Sentimental and Vintage Verses .  Make sure you go and check out the inspiring projects by the DT, link up your creations (old or new) and get some free templates that are on offer this week. I decided to have another play with my One Big SALE-A-BRATION 2013 Digital Disc and was pretty pleased that I worked out how to create another shaped card, this time using the Penny Farthing Digital Stamp from the SAB stamp set called, Feeling Sentimental.  We don't have MDS in Australia yet so I made an enlarged mirror image of the 'stamp' using the Print Master 2011 Platinum Edition program. This is what it looked like before I hand cut around the printed image -     I decided it looked a bit plain by itself and adding too many embellishments would have distracted from the image, so I decided ...

So Much Variety from One Make 'n' Take

Image
I went and did a workshop last night after my first week back at work - phew!  Fortunately for me, the hostess just lived down the road and I already had kits cut from last week's workshop.  I had run out of paper doilies which I had used in the original design, so adjusted the make 'n' take and used the largest doily from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits instead. This card was the closest to the original design and it was the Guest's first ever hand made card that she had created - This one was made by the Hostess - I just loved the variety of designs that all the Guests came up with -        Apologies for the 'photogrpahy' as these were taken on my iPhone at night time. Thanks for stopping by,

Still AddINKtive Challenges # 4 - Sketch and Colour

Image
Hi there and welcome to addINKtive designs.  Over at still addINKtive challenges we have a beautiful sketch and colour challenge for you. S.A. # 4 - Sketch and Colour I spent the first week of the Summer holidays designing the sketches and I'm quite pleased with how this one turned out and very glad that Kathy has taken charge of all the colour combinations.  We have a great line up in store for you over the next few months.  I really LOVE blue and brown together and was pretty happy with Kathy's choice this week - s.a. # 4   http:stilladdinktive.blogspot.com It's my first week back at work after the summer holiday break and I didn't have a lot of time to spend on this card, so kept pretty close to the sketch. The Paper Players Challenge # 131 - Sympathy Card The Paper Players have a challenge to make a Sympathy card and I made this for a fellow stamping friend who recently lost her daughter.   It's a gre...

Workshop Make 'n' Takes for SAB and the New Seasonal Catalogue

Image
On Friday night I held my first proper workshop since re-joining SU.  It was more like a stamp class as all the participants got to make two cards to take home with them.  I wanted to feature items from the new Seasonal Catalogue, SALE-A-BRATION and the current Ideas Book and Catalogue.  This is what I came up with -   Make 'n' Take # 1 - Just Because (14/3/13 - I've linked this card to the latest challenge at still addINKtive ) Guests could choose to do an alternative colour scheme to the one pictured above - Primrose Petals Core'dinations card Stock embossed with the Fancy Brocade embossing folder and a Pool Party Decorative Label behind the sentiment.   Make 'n' Take # 2 - Friends This one was a lot quicker to make and both designs got the tick of approval from all the guests.  Inspiration for the second card came from page 13 of the Seasonal Catalogue.   Project Recipe by Catalogue - IB&C:  Stamp Set - Flock Togeth...

Rita's Coffee Cup Card

Image
I've been amazed at how popular 'my' Coffee Cup Tutorial has been and it is lovely to receive some emails from happy customers. I say 'my' but I had a lot of help from my friend Lynne and once normal programming resumes in my busy schedule, I hope to get some more lessons from the 'guru' of all things digital. I wanted to share a photo that Rita Looney sent me of her take on the coffee cup card.  She made it  for a "dear friend with a brain tumour who has a passionate love for Zaraffa's Coffee, so she is getting her own 'cup' for her birthday". Rita doesn't have a blog so was more than happy for me to share her creativity with you. It's pretty cute, don't you think? I just wanted to clarify that my tutorial is not a cutting file and you don't need any sort of 'machine' to make it - just a computer attached to a printer and a pair of scissors and some glue :) If you have Make the Cut software, my f...
