Birthday Blooms for The Colour Tree

Image
We're up to the eighth challenge at The Colour Tree and I'm sharing another card that I made during my summer break.  Work has been all consuming lately and I haven't made a single paper craft project this month.  I will run out of my stash next week so here's hoping I can get back into my craft room soon. A big thanks to my friend and down-line, De Arn, who lent me Birthday Blooms and Rose Garden Thinlits (among other stamps) for a week during my holidays.  It was only fitting that I saved this one for her birthday.   There's two new In-Colours in this week's colour combo at TCT and Gold has made it into the mix again!  I hope you will join me for the latest challenge.   Thanks for stopping by,

Hello ... It's Me ...

Image
... I was wondering if you would like to see ... what the next challenge at The Colour Tree will be? #TCTC7 If you have been following my little journey with The Colour Tree , you will know that I love the addition of 'Gold' to a colour combo!  It's been a bit of a fad.  This time around I was also keen to try the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder with the coordinating mask from Happy Patterns .  The simple layout is a CASE from a Stampin' Success Magazine but I decided to use a rose instead of a butterfly as I have made a few butterfly cards lately.       I hope you can join in with the latest challenge by linking up your project in the TCT Gallery . A Butterfly Farewell for The Colour Tree

Image
Hi there.  Today's card is one that I have wanted to try for ages.  I've seen a few of these Swallowtail cut out cards on Pinterest and made this farewell card for a good friend and work colleague.  She loves purple and butterflies so I used a few complementary shades for the background and butterfly layers.  I love how it turned and decided to put the combo together for the latest challenge at The Colour Tree . #TCTC6         The Swallowtail background stamp was stamped onto the card front with Versa Mark Ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder .   A watercolour wash of Rich Razzleberry Ink (in an Aquapainter ) was added for the emboss resist technique and then splotches were stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink .  After the card front layer had dried, the shape of the butterfly was cut out and two die cuts added for extra dimension. I hope you can join in with the latest challenge by linking up yo...

A Rose Garden Window Card for the Latest Challenge at The Colour Tree

Image
Hi there!  Thanks for visiting addINKtive designs.   I have quite a different window card to share with you today and it was made to highlight the new Colour Tree Challenge for this week.   #TCTC5    A pair of jeans and matching necklace were the inspiration for this week's challenge colours at The Colour Tree -        For this sympathy card I created a window using the single rose die from the Rose Garden Thinlits, attached the navy rose to the inside of the card and then added the larger yellow rose and leaf die cut to the front.  The gorgeous Swallowtail butterfly was stamped on the background panel, along with the small flower stamp from Rose Wonder . The front sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder and a little die cut butterfly from the new SAB Wildflower Fields DSP was added to complete the challenge colour palette . I hope you will join the latest challenge by linking u...
