A couple of days ago I was invited by Dawn to be A Guest Designer for the next round of UStamp with Dawn and Friends! So with a little fear and trepidation (due mainly to time restrictions at this 'festive' time of the year) I actually agreed ... so could someone please PINCH ME?!! The exciting thing is I get to give away A FREE PASS to the 'Year End Blowout' Edition 2010. Thanks to the lovely, Caroline Colgan , I won one for the last round, 'Get a Jump on Your Jingle' and have gained some wonderful ideas from the 40 tutorials presented. After two lessons with Andrea, some inspiration from Amanda , another pattern from Patrice , a few You Tube Videos and a bit of blog surfing, this is what I've managed to do so far! Hand Knit Tag Holder Sketch Challenge #45 Hand Knit Tags My Hand Knitted Cupcake Pin Cushion The pattern for this cute little project is from an Express Publication called, Knitting and Crochet (No. 1). Knitting was my first 'craft love'. My paternal grandmother taught me how to knit at the age of 4 and then my mum guided me through the knitting obsession for many more years. Last night I took a workshop for a lovely bunch of enthusiastic ladies. The Hostess wanted a Christmas theme so I took the opportunity to promote the Welcome Christmas Bundle that is on offer in SU's latest Dressing Up Christmas Promotion . Here's some samples from the evening. The Hostess Gift - a Box in a Bag full of Yummy Christmas Chocolates It's been a couple of years since I've made one of these gift bags. They're so easy to make. You can find the tutorial in the Resources Section on Splitcoast Stampers . I used the Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP that I was able to purchase in the Welcome Christmas Bundle and also received the featured ribbon for FREE. I love this DSP as there are two single sided flocked designs as well as the double sided patterns. Welcome Christmas Snow Globe This week's challenge at Just Add Ink is to JUST ADD CHRISTMAS . When I spotted these Snow Globes while I was out shopping with my mum (in Spotlight), I completely changed my plans about my submission and went with this! I know we don't have sleds and snow at Christmas time in Australia but a lot of our traditions come from the North and I love the traditional style Christmas decorations and cards. Reverse Side For this side of the Snow Globe, I scrunched up some plastic wrap and used it to apply some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to the background (on Whisper White Card Stock ), then stamped the silhouette image from Welcome Christmas with Black Staz-On . The Holly Wreath stamp from the set was then stamped on in sections across the top using Old Olive Ink and lastly the berries were coloured in with a Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker . It was very difficult to shake up the globe and then quickly get a decent photo for each side. A...

Coffee Kiki Inkspirations Challenges has a new home and a bigger Design Team so I just HAD to find the time to join in and have a go at their latest Sketch Challenge . Inkspirations Sketch # 47 The 'flower' image seemed to be the real focal point and finally I had a project 'worthy' enough to place one of the gorgeous crocheted flowers that Patrice had made for me. I have been looking at all the lovely crocheted flowers that Patrice and my other friend, Andrea, have made. It's been so hard to take them out of my little dish which sits on my stamping desk and use them, unless of course they're for a really special project!
