Dynamic Duos # 14 - Bold and Sassy

DD # 14 - Lil Monster Valentine

It's a Bold and Sassy colour combo this week at Dynamic Duos.  I must admit that orange and green are on 'my list of least favourite colours' but I was surprised at how awesome the combo turned out to be and just how much I enjoyed making this card.

This Week's Colour Duo

It must have something to do with that little monster image.  Isn't he adorable?  This is the first time I have inked up my Lil Monster Valentine.  In my opinion he gets an Olympic Gold Medal for 'cuteness'.

I decided to do a bit of water colouring with my SU Markers and Aqua Painters.  I found it was a relaxing way to pass the time while babysitting for friends a couple of weeks ago.

Matching SU DSP, embossed white card stock, tag, sentiment and faux stitching were added using the latest Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for inspiration.

Last, but by no means least, I am entering my card in the 'Flower Frenzy' August challenge at Stamp, Embellish, Create.

Thanks for stopping by.

Be sure to check out all the other Dynamos for some Bold and Sassy projects to get you inspired -

Happy crafting!

That is such a cute card Bronwyn. You've done wonders with a scary colour combo I think! Great take on the sketch too. Really adorable!

Bronwyn, I just let out the loudest "Awww!" after seeing this little guy up close. It's 4:30 am here and I think I woke my hubby up, too. Haha! (He thought I was in pain from my foot surgery...oops!) On a scale of 1-10, this ranks as a 11 for cuteness! So bright and cheery, in every way. Have a great weekend! :)

Doily Cards

I was going a little stir crazy so decided to end my 'blog fasting' today. I lasted 2 weeks which isn't the entire month of March that I was aiming for but I have severely cut down my Internet usage and spent my 'free' time getting my priorities a little more in order :)

Here are some doily cards I wanted to share with you on this beautiful March Long Weekend Holiday. Inspiration came from a very CAS Card I found through Pinterest.

For a Stampin' Up! ® version of this card, please check out what I made using the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set and co-ordinating die.

Pop-Up, Z-Fold, Card in a Box

Hi there.  I've been eying off some great examples of Z-fold, pop-up cards on Pinterest and thought it would be fun to make one.  I tweaked the basic design a little by adding some inserts; the ones you use in card-in-a-box style cards.  So I've called my take on this fun fold, a Pop-Up, Z-Fold, Card in a Box! - It's a crate full of summer strawberries with some home-made strawberry jam sitting on the kitchen bench.

Summer Strawberries
This card was made for a dear friend's birthday and I'm also entering it into two card challenges -
JAI #318 - "Just Add S"

S is for ... strawberries, strawberry jam, straw and summer!
Thanks, JAI!

Here's a bird's eye view before I added all the stamped strawberries etc. -

Thanks for stopping by, Please note that this is the original card for this type of fold. I came up with the idea of adding the card inserts to a z-fold. A v…

Scallop Circle Easel Card Tutorial

Punch Potpourri Scallop Circle Easel Card
in the Dynamic Duo of
Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink

1. Score a piece of card stock through the middle (which is double the length of your die) and line up the folded piece over the Scallop Circle Die (SCD) leaving 4 scallops at the top to form the base of your card.

This is how it should look after you run it through the Big Shot Machine.

2. Score a line through the middle of the top Scallop Circle and fold upwards.

3. Apply Sticky Strip or glue to half the Scallop Circle as shown above.

4. Cut out a single Scallop Circle in the same colour (Melon Mambo) and stick it to the folded half so the top layer sits up like an easel (The top half that is facing will now be a double layer and the bottom half, a single layer of card stock).

5. Cut two circles using the lighter shade (Pretty In Pink) and attach one to the base of the card. Sponge around the edges with the darker shade of ink before gluing the other circle to the front of the card.

6. Stamp…
