CASEing the Catty Blog Hop - The Wedding Section of the Occasions Catalogue

Thanks for stopping by on the CTC Blog Hop. You may have just 'hopped' here from Stasia's blog or landed here directly.  Either way, I hope you are enjoying our Hop. Tonight the Crew have 'CASED' ideas from the Wedding Section of the Occasions Catalogue (pages 42 - 44).

There's lots of inspiration packed into 3 pages and here's what inspired me to make a cute little Tealight Birdhouse -
  • Theme:  Wedding (Favour/Décor)
  • Colour:  Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, Sahara Sand, Kraft (Baked Brown Sugar)
  • Technique:  White Embossing on Vellum and Colouring the Images
  • Accessories:  Sahara Sand Lace Trim
I love the 'Choose Happiness' Stamp Set and the white embossing on the vellum gives it a soft 'romantic' look.

The DIY Mini Milk Carton was designed by Sam from Pootles Papercraft and I followed a video tutorial on Stampin' Connection made by Maria Russell. You can see it here on You Tube. I also noticed that she has created a video of my Top Note Owl Card!  She certainly has great taste in paper craft projects.

I made a summary of Maria's (and Sam's) tutorials, with my version thrown into the mix, so I have the measurements handy for future reference.

Mini Tutorial for Tea Light Bird House

Sahara Sand Card Stock - 5-1/2" x 8-1/4", Roof 1-7/8" x 5"

(Arrows Embossing Folder)
Scored on the long side at 1-7/8", 3-3/4", 5-5/8" and 7-1/2".
Scored on the short side at 1-7/8", 3-3/4" and 5".

1" Circle Punch

Just use a small amount of snail adhesive if adding a tealight, for easy access.

That bird house is SO cute!!! I love the way you've wrapped the vellum around it and the use of that embossing folder and lace for the roof. Beautiful! Lovely tutorial too. xx
