24

Not only is 24 my son's favourite TV Series, it's also how old he turned last week.  Happy Birthday, Ryan!  I kept his card pretty plain and simple as he's a 'no frills' kind of guy.    Once again I have used Digital Punches , converted them into cutting files to make this '24' shaped card - Timeless Type Junior Numbers Alphabet Soup ... then cut the card base and letters with my electronic cutter. I love the sentiment, "YOU'RE HOW OLD?" from the Just Sayin' Stamp Set and matching Word Bubbles Framelits , my favourite 'bundle' from the new Occasions Catalogue .           Thanks so much for stopping by,  For Stampin' Up! ® supplies, 24/7, make sure you check out my on-line shop -

SUO 89 - One-Layer Challenge

Image
It's time for another Stampin' Up! ® Only Challenge (SUO) and this week we're asking you to create a one-layer card .  The idea is to use just a single card base and embellishments are allowed. I actually made a set of tags.  They certainly have only one layer of card stock but there are many 'layers' of ink - I think the technical term is 'collage stamping'. SUO 89 - One-Layer Challenge These litttle beauties were made using a brand new product (only just released TODAY in Australia) called the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch .  You just cut your card stock 2" wide and it slides through the punch and cuts the scallop bit at the top.  This allows you to cut the tag to the length you need - brilliant! My one-layer tags were made using a variety of stamp sets (please refer to the 'Labels' below) and stamped with Metallic Gold, Crumb Cake, White StazOn, Basic Black, Always Artichoke, Soft Sky and Marina Mist inks onto Soft Sky Core'...

Oh! Seriously ... How Easy was this? A Gift Bag for FMS #120.

Image
Don't you love it when a creative thought in your head is transformed into a project that requires very little effort?  I'm 'chuffed' at how simple this was and how happy this little gift bag makes me feel!  Not to mention the fact that I'm also pleased that my light box is working again ... I thought a globe or connection was in serious need of repair until I discovered last night that one plug wasn't pushed in at the switch properly!  Duh ... truly a 'blonde' moment. Apologies for a week's worth of 'ho hum' photography. Ok .. onto this little gift bag ...  When I'm out and about being a 'tourist' and wandering through various gift shops that our beautiful state of Tasmania has to offer, I often pick up bits 'n' pieces to add to my craft stash that I keep for a 'rainy day'.  Most of my collection consists of things that I can 'alter' by jazzing them up a little with Stampin' Up! ® product.  I've ...

Koala Card

Image
G'day mate.  Happy Australia Day! I've been busy in my Craft Studio today designing a Koala Card to coincide with our Australia Day Celebrations and to 'share the love' I've written a tutorial so you can go ahead and make one for yourself! It's based on the Owl Card that I recently made.  The response to that project was beyond amazing so I thought it would be fun to make a Koala equivalent.  Enjoy!      Kevin the Koala Tutorial for Kaitlyn the Koala The above photo shows all the Stampin' Up! ® punched and Big Shot Die pieces you will need to make this Koala Card . 1.  Cut out all the pieces ready to assemble (Card Stock - Basic Gray (BG), Pink Pirouette (PP), Very Vanilla (VV), Basic Black (BB), Pool Party (PP) ).   2.  Score one Top Note piece lengthwise. 3.  Sponge around the edges of the above pieces with the corresponding ink colour. 4.  Punch off 3 scallops from each Scallop Cir...

UNDEFINED Vespa Flip Card and Gift Card Holder

Image
I've always wanted a 'scooter' stamp so I got really brave and pulled out my UNDEFINED Stamp Carving Kit and set about making one for myself! My drawing skills 'suck' so I 'Googled' 'free svg files, scooter' and found this really cool silhouette image of a 1960's Piaggio Vespa , then printed out the image to the size that I wanted, traced around the outline with a pencil and transferred it to the piece of rubber from the UNDEFINED Stamp Carving Kit .  The tools were so easy to use and I was able to produce a slightly modified version of the clip art image (In other words, I left off all the little fiddly bits).     I absolutely LOVE the Thinlits Card Dies and decided to make a flip card to feature my newly stamped scooter image.  It was meant to go in the previous challenge at Just Add Ink but I got a bit busy this week on the work and home front and never got to finish it in time.   There's also lots of sneak peeks of some, ...
