Mum's Tea Cup Easel Card

High Tea for Mother's Day

 JAI 112 - Colour Challenge
 

There is an absolutely scrumptious colour challenge at JUST ADD INK and the combo was perfect for this little tea cup easel card that I designed.

I've had this idea in my head for weeks and thought a card for my mum for Mother's Day would suit the design rather well (She's mostly a coffee drinker but does love her fine china). 

I'm my own worst critic but I must admit that I'm really pleased with how this turned out.  However, I still  need to tweak it a bit before I write a tutorial so stay 'tuned'.

Wow Bronwyn! This is beautiful and clever! Love the doily and the tea cup is so pretty stamped with elements of style. I think our colour challenge is a perfect fit for this card, I'm glad you could play along with us.

I couldn't help it Bron, as soon as I realised this was an easel card I laughed. It is just wonderful!! and only you would think of easeling a tea cup (huge smile)Love the beautiful pink flowers it does indeed look like fine china!

Just Add a Technique - Challenge # 17 at Just Add Ink

Paper Beads and Faux Silk Asian Artistry This week at Just Add Ink we have a challenge with a difference. It takes on the form of a Blog Hop. You will need to visit all the Design Team Member's Blogs and check out all the wonderful tutorials the girls have put together to highlight a certain technique. Decide on which technique you'd like to try and make a card, scrapbook layout or 3D item etc. and enter it in this week's challenge on the Just Add Ink Blog. I have put together a very simple tutorial to show you how to make Paper Beads and Faux Silk . Paper Beads Step 1 - Using your paper cutter, cut out some long triangular strips of paper the length of your chosen DSP. Mine have been cut about 1.5 centimetres at the widest point. I only needed 3 beads but I cut an extra one in case I 'muffed' up. Step 2 - Starting at the wide end, roll up the strip of paper applying glue as you roll. Scalloped Tag Easel Card with Punch Art Vintage Caravan

Just popping in for a quick post with a cute little project to say a fond farewell to SALE-A-BRATION 2014 .  We had a beautiful and varied selection of free product to choose from (as always) and I think that the top two for me were the gorgeous Sweet Sorbet DSP and Banner Punch .       My brother is really into restoring Vintage Caravans (campers) and I bought a book for him today called, VANTASTIC - Retro Caravan Holidays in the Modern World by Kate Ulman, which inspired this bit of Punch Art on my Scalloped Tag Easel Card . Somehow, I think that I will be back with some more caravan paper creations as I really enjoyed making this one.
