TGIF Challenges - Tuesday Throw Down (#tgifctd01)

Hi there, today I am playing along with the first Throw Down Challenge at TGIF Challenges.

 


Here's the Brief -

    
I love the idea of throwing a few Stampin' Up! products out there and seeing what you can make from a selected combination.  I don't have the Work of Art Stamp Set or the Hello You Thinlits ... yet ;) so that left me with the remaining four to make something from - Gold Foil, Butterfly Thinlits, Blushing Bride and Blackberry Bliss Ink.  The 'gold' trend is a favourite of mine at the moment as well as the new Watercolor Wings Stamp Set, so I made a butterfly easel card similar to one I created a few days ago.

Scallop Circle Easel Card Tutorial

Punch Potpourri Scallop Circle Easel Card in the Dynamic Duo of Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink 1. Score a piece of card stock through the middle (which is double the length of your die) and line up the folded piece over the Scallop Circle Die (SCD) leaving 4 scallops at the top to form the base of your card. This is how it should look after you run it through the Big Shot Machine . 2. Score a line through the middle of the top Scallop Circle and fold upwards. 3. Apply Sticky Strip or glue to half the Scallop Circle as shown above. 4. Cut out a single Scallop Circle in the same colour (Melon Mambo) and stick it to the folded half so the top layer sits up like an easel (The top half that is facing will now be a double layer and the bottom half, a single layer of card stock). 5. Paper Beads and Faux Silk Asian Artistry This week at Just Add Ink we have a challenge with a difference. It takes on the form of a Blog Hop. You will need to visit all the Design Team Member's Blogs and check out all the wonderful tutorials the girls have put together to highlight a certain technique. Decide on which technique you'd like to try and make a card, scrapbook layout or 3D item etc. and enter it in this week's challenge on the Just Add Ink Blog. I have put together a very simple tutorial to show you how to make Paper Beads and Faux Silk . Paper Beads Step 1 - Using your paper cutter, cut out some long triangular strips of paper the length of your chosen DSP. Mine have been cut about 1.5 centimetres at the widest point.
