Inkspirations Sketch Challenge # 20

Image
Button Owl I should be making an example of a decorated Easter Basket to show the children in my class tomorrow but I got a little side tracked. I started the Inkspiration Challenge a couple of days ago and knew that if I didn't complete it tonight, I'd miss out! It's been a few weeks since I've entered one and I was going a little nuts!! It feels good to give this one a go as Sketch Challenges are my favourite sort. I sponge daubed the chipboard owl with Whisper White Craft Ink before stamping it and had some fun playing around with some pre-order goodies. This Week's Inkspirations Sketch Here are the Project Details: Stamp Sets: Cheep Talk, Trendy Trees, Really Retro Ink: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Sahara Sand, Basic Gray, Whisper White Craft Cardstock: Kraft, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss (textured) Accessories: On Board So Tweet, Urban Oasis DSP, Sponge Daubers, 5- Petal Flower, Scallop Edge and Word Window Punches, Sizzlits Dies: SU Little Leaves ...

A CASE from the Impressions Magazine

Image
A CASE from the Impressions Magazine What do you do when you have a workshop, work 4 days a week, need to make a birthday card, have a submission to make as a DT Member for Just Add Ink , have SWAPS to make for Sydney, the housework to do, feed the family etc. etc. ? The answer is you CASE - Copy and share everything! I love the SU Impression's Magazine that arrives once a month in the mail. It has some wonderful ideas for Make 'n' Takes and demos. I have another 3 cards that I'd love to CASE and share with you later. It isn't exactly the same as the lovely sample in the magazine as I didn't have all the stamp sets or rub-ons and I added a little dragonfly to give it more dimension. The make 'n' take that we did last night used Very Vanilla Cardstock, Tangerine Tango, paper piercing and some Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon instead of the clip. Will post that one another time. A Close Up of the Dragonfly with Dazzling Diamonds on its Wings. Project R...

Just Add Ink Challenge # 10 - Colour

Image
Designer Bag and Matching Card This week at Just Add Ink we have a lovely colour combo to inspire your creative juices. Hope you can join in the fun as we head towards the Easter Break. I purchased this awesome Designer Bag (Haute Tote) template from Creations by AR . I'm sure you will see it appear in future posts as it makes such a gorgeous gift bag and was really easy to make. I added stitching using my sewing machine. Don't look too closely as I haven't sewn on cardstock for ages! This Week's Colour Combo A View of the Inside Pocket I can't afford the real thing so this will have to do! The card is the same size as the Fresh Cut Notes. Pop the card (or set of cards) inside for a cute little gift. This bags comes complete with a little 'coin purse'. I really enjoyed making this because I fell in love with that little bag the moment I saw it on Splitcoast Stampers and the colours for this week's challenge were certainly my 'cup of tea' (o...

A Trip Down Memory Lane # 4 - Gift Packs

Image
Ocean Commotion Gift Pack 'Retro' Gift Pack Owl Together Now Gift Pack Pocket Silhouettes Gift Pack Trendy Trees Gift Pack As you can see, I went through a bit of a fad when it came to making gift packs! It was the gorgeous kit that we made at last year's Convention that got me started. I just changed the topper slightly and threaded taffeta ribbon through each end. All images were scanned so excuse the glare on the acetate gift bags! Please note that the DSP in Gift Packs 2 and 3 are non-SU, as well as the stamps for number 2. Thanks for browsing.

A Trip Down Memory Lane # 3 - Canberra Make 'N' Takes

Image
Trendy Trees Circle Circus Trendy Trees' Gift Pack I've made lots of gift packs since this one. They might appear in my next post for a 'Trip Down Memory Lane'. If you've been following my blog you'll know that I'm on a mission to post some cards that I made before I started the world of blogging. Here's number 3 in the series. These are three of the four Make 'n' Takes that we did at last year's National Convention. I never got around to doing the scrapbook page. Maybe one day! If you're off to Sydney this year and we've crossed paths through blogging, I'd love to meet up with you, do a swap and have a chat! I've been busy getting ready for a Workshop this week and organising DT submissions for Just Add Ink , so there will be some new stuff to have a peep at soon! Thanks for stopping by, Bron :)

A Trip Down Memory Lane #2 - Swaps

Image
These cards were made for my very first Stampin' Up! Event - the Regionals in Hobart (November 2008). I get a bit restless making just one design when I do SWAPS so I'll be armed with a few different ones for the upcoming National Convention in Sydney. I'll try and aim to make 10 a week until the 21st May rocks around. Fun times ahead! The first card with the cute little bird has remained a favourite and I've kept that Hostess Level 2 Stamp Set (Spring Solitude). Are there any retired stamp sets or In Colours that you just can't part with?

A Trip Down Memory Lane #1 - Oriental

Image
Oriental 1 Oriental 2 Oriental 3 Oriental 4 There are heaps of cards that I made before I started blogging which have never made it to the WWW (except, maybe in my Facebook Album ). I thought it would be fun to feature some of them in different posts over the next few days or weeks (depending on how industrious I feel). Here's the first lot which I have classed as 'Oriental'. I won't be posting all the details and many sets/colours have retired now but if you want any more info, please don't hesitate to contact me. Love to know your thoughts. Any colours, DSP's or sets that you miss?

Autumn/Winter Mini Sneak Peek

Image
Autumn/Winter Release Date - 1st April Want to know something funny? This was made for Keesh's latest colour challenge and when I went to upload the picture of the lovely colour palette, I realised that I had the wrong combination!!! Her challenge was to use the colours, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Taken with Teale and Regal Rose. Can you spot my mistake? I guess I was so excited to be using some of the new products that I accidentally substituted Rose Red for Regal Rose! I'm always getting those two mixed up. Duh! It isn't going in the challenge but I'm not fussed as I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I don't have time to make another one because as soon as I finish writing this post, I'm off to work on my Just Add Ink submission for this week. Here's What I Used - Stamp Set: Vintage Labels (sentiment) Cardstock: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal Textured Ink: Rose Red, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Silver Brad, 1.6cm C...

Having Fun Look What I Made! A Close Up of Amanda's Cupcake Gift Box Helen's Cupcake Gift Box ... sharing the fun with friends! Don't you agree? Last night Helen and Amanda came around to make a little cupcake gift box and to have a play with some stamps, punches etc. It was so good to share my stamping space (a converted rumpus room) with real people and not just my computer screen! It's been about 3 months since I held my last class but they'll be happening once a month for the rest of the year! They had fun crafting while I unpacked my new box of goodies (Autumn/Winter pre-order) and put together the new stamp sets I had received. It was good to catch up and chat until late. A big Happy Birthday TODAY to the lovely and talented, Amanda, who first introduced me to Stampin' Up! almost 2 years ago! Cheers, Bron XX PS: The template for the cupcakes can be purchased from the Digi Chick Boutique (link on my side bar). PPS: Some of the children in my grade 5/...

Just Add Easter This was a fun challenge to do! I can't believe it's nearly Easter already! Some of you lovely ladies did some fabulous Easter themed creations last week brought on by the lovely bright colour combo. I can't wait to see what you come up with this week. I'm sure I'll get lots of inspiration for my grade 5/6 class! Well, I was doing some browsing in the galleries at Splitcoast about a year ago and came across a side step card. Inkspirations Sketch Challenge # 19

Image
Baby Tilda It's a long weekend here in Tassie and I had a little bit of time to play with the sketch from Keesh's Inkspiration's Challenge . I had to wait until the light was beaming through the window before I could take some photos. We've had a bit of rain here in the last 24 hours but thankfully, not as much as in other parts of Australia! I had a baby girl card to make and thought I'd do something a bit different and use one of my Magnolia Stamps. Here's the Project Recipe: Stamp Sets: Lovely Labels (SU) and Tilda (Magnolia) Cardstock: Kraft, Whisper White, Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink Ink: Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Pretties Kit, Pretty in Pink Coloured DSP (retired), Dimensionals, Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle and Corner Rounder Punches, Aqua Painter, Watercolour Paper Non-SU: CB embossing folder, Flower Soft, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, White Ruffled Ribbon from my st...

A Kind Word It's time for another challenge at Just Add Ink . This week it's all about colour. Confession time! I struggled with the colour combo as I'm so not into Bold Brights but challenges are meant to challenge!! This one certainly pushed me way beyond my comfort zone and then some. Colour Coach and a Sweet Sunday Sketch

Image
The Sketch comes from the lovely and talented, Karen Giron and the Colour Combo is from Stampin ' Up's ! Colour Coach. Sunday Coffee It's been a while since I've entered a Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (8 weeks to be precise). I don't have a lot of time these days to join in the fun but managed to slip this one in! Our latest SU Demonstrator's Magazine, 'Impressions', had a great card sample using Sip by Sip and inspiration from the 'Pop Art' Movement. I'm dying to CASE that one sometime soon. In the meantime I thought I'd ink up this versatile set as I hadn't used it for a while. I went to the Colour Coach to find some warm, earthy, coffee colours and loved the combination of Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Cameo Coral. Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge # 58 Project Recipe: Stamp Set: Sip by Sip Cardstock: Glossy White, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel Ink: Cameo Coral, Creamy Caramel, Ruby Red Accessorie...
