Easter is celebrated world wide but Australia and New Zealand have another important holiday on Monday 25th April to commemorate ANZAC DAY.
This is what I came up with -
So What is ANZAC Day all about?
This week's challenge is also so appropriate for today (Good Friday) because ...
"Greater love has no one than this, that He lay down his life for his friends".
(John 15:3)
So with ANZAC Day in mind, Just Add Ink have a special theme challenge to ... Just Add Mateship/Friendship to your paper craft project.

I make no apologies for the fact that this is another easel card and it does feature butterflies! :)
However, it is the first time I have actually used All a Flutter and my Tim Holtz Caged Bird Die for a card.
I hope you can see the symbolism of the empty cage (Freedom/Empty Tomb), butterflies (new beginnings/new life) and the red ribbon (blood shed) as I tried to merge our two special holidays into the design of this card.
Project Details:
Stamp Sets: All a Flutter, Friends 24-7
Card Stock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink/Markers: Real Red, Basic Black
Accessories: Newsprint DSP, 7.9 mm Jumbo Brads (silver), Real Red Taffeta Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch, Stamping Sponge (with a bit of Early Espresso ink for slight sponging around the edges of the tag), Dimensionals
Non-SU: Sizzix Die - Caged Bird (Tim Holtz)

So What is ANZAC Day all about?
ANZAC Day is a very special day in Australian and New Zealand history. ANZAC stands for the Australia New Zealand Army Corp. and it is significant because on the 25th of April 1915, Australia went into battle for the first time as an independent nation. We had only become a country in 1901 and prior to that we were a loose collection of colonies and this was our "baptism of fire" on the shores of Gallipoli.
On that fateful day our troops landed on a beach at dawn (now called ANZAC Cove) on the Turkish peninsula . They suffered a terrible defeat but our men fought with great bravery. The battle really highlighted the character traits of mateship and sacrifice. We talk about the Anzac Spirit which was born that day and use the term as a mark of great respect. Australia and New Zealand commemorate this day with Dawn Services and Anzac Day Marches to remember those who fought and gave their lives for their country, not only in World War 1 but in all subsequent wars.
