JAI 84 - White with One

No ... I'm not talking about how I like my coffee (It's actually white with none 'cause I'm sweet enough ;) ... but rather the latest challenge at Just Add Ink.

Mae has chosen the colour combo for this week and it is white with a colour of your choice. I chose the new In-Colour, Island Indigo and teamed it up with Confetti White.

JAI 84 - Forever Young
This card was actually made for a close friend who recently lost her grandmother.

It is slightly different to the easel cards that I usually make as it is not cut on the fold using a die cut.

The first butterfly was actually placed on the tree to cover up a mistake and then more were added to 'finish it off'. I liked the idea of framing the girl on the swing to 'capture a moment in time'. It never started off as a Sympathy Card but the more it evolved, the more appropriate it seemed to be.

The Colour Combo

The Flower
The paper flower is based on a swap that a friend gave me at the latest Regionals in Hobart (see below). I made mine from Confetti White Card Stock and sponged it with Island Indigo Ink (inspired by a beautiful birthday card from Tania that you can see HERE). I used a Clear Rhinestone Brad with a Pearl to hold the layers together.

Thanks for the mini demo at our table, Rochelle :)

Card Construction
Card Base - The Lace Ribbon Border Punch makes a beautiful edging for the front of the card.

Card Front - Instead of ribbon, I pleated some Timeless Portrait DSP to go underneath the flower. The larger scallop circle from the Perfect Pennants Die was placed underneath the Confetti White Card Stock to give the card a more unique shape.

Project Recipe: JAI 84 - Forever Young

Stamp Sets: Forever Young, Thoughts & Prayers
Card Stock: Confetti White, Island Indigo
Ink: Island Indigo
Accessories: Perfect Pennants Die, Timeless Portrait DSP, Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle, Lace Ribbon Border and Decorative Label Punches, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Basic Jewels - Pearl, Stamping Sponge, Dimensionals

Make sure you hop on over to Just Add Ink to see what the other DT Members have crafted for inspiration and to link up your own, 'White with One' entry.

Thanks for stopping by.

Absolutely beautiful, Bron. (Great minds think alike, on the coffee comment .... although I'm NOT sweet enough, LOL.)

It looks like you got a lot of pleasure out of making this card. All of the gorgeous little details will, I'm sure, be much appreciated by your friend.
